How much is "too much"? First and most important question.

The cheapest out of those 3 is nitrous. However, I'd stroke. Imho, a much more sastifying feeling than the other 2.

Cool Well...

Technically you dont have to bore it over any... if you go with the stroker idea...

With a 400ci SBC Crank Yammed in it should be somewhat like this.
Stnd Bore = 377ci
.030 = 383ci < What I have in my car... 425hp/440tq Go Stroker!
.040 = 385ci
.060 = 388ci

Now, I could be wrong but thats what i've learned. I'd look into it more with a professional when you start your project for more info.

I say, if you're pulling the motor to rebuild it for the stroker... why not replace all the internals with Forged components then later on go with a Supercharger and have best of both worlds? Also... upgrade to some bigger heads and like a LT4 Cam and you've got an easy easy 360+hp all motor (thats with Intake, Headers and Exhaust helping out) plus whatever the Supercharger puts out... 12 seconds isnt hard to reach at all.

I'd be it be near 450-460hp with low Psi... of course thats just speculation and a bit of ricer math too!

here's the rundown:
Nitrous: To put you in the 12 sec range it'll run around $1,500 set-up right, but this will be something to use sparingly, using it everyday will really up the wear and tear on both the engine and tranny.

S/C: Best bet if you go this route is a centrifugal (maybe aftercooled) unit pushing 6-9 psi. Price varies between the various popular makers (Powerdyne, ProCharger, ect.) so if this sounds good (daily reliable power) then look around.

Stroker: If you plan to keep adding power (like if you think you're gonna want 11- mid-high 10's) this is the best bet, however, if you're gonna stick with street driven 12's you'll be amazed at how much you spend on gas, and you're probably better off with a s/c.

i'd go with a supercharger myself , quick easy power , safer than NOS imo and why rebuild a motor before its due ? strap a s/c on it and if one day you need to go into the bottom end do the stroke !!!

Cost me $7000 u.s. to do my stroker but the power is always there.

You will need a high stall converter, suspension mods, exhaust, and headers as well if you do the stroker.

Cheapest way is Hooker Longtube headers, Mufflex Y-pipe, Cold air intake, BFG drag radials, Spohn LCAs, relocation brackets, and a 100 shot of juice.

Make sure you get an adjustable unit that slowly injects the nitrous so you don't shock the motor.

NOS is stupid. And a good way to blow your engine if its not built to handle it. I say, cat back exhaust, headers, power programmer, intake, and supercharger.

The only people blowing their cars up with Nos are the ones that don't know what they're doing.

You can just as easily run lean on boost and toast your motor.

New Nitrous kits have safety features like a cut-off switch in case your fuel psi drops and also a modulator to slowly inject the nos from 0-100% jetting so it doesn't turn on all at once and shock your motor.

Hell ya! Turbo all the way. I would bore it, add the 400 crank and make it a 383, then the Turbo.

GO for a new high perfomance Camshaft and rocker arms, this would be 1/4 the amount of a vortech supercharger and yet around the same gain in HP if you get the right CAM.
