2007 Liberty traction control, stalling

If the traction control is on, and it is at all damp - car will stall and only turning key on and off three times resets so you can go again
Fine with traction control turned off
Does anyone have a clue what is wrong?
there are sensors for each wheel that could have gone bad, or there is a central unit of some sort I gather for this system - search has not yet given me this situation from anyone else

It's possible that there is a problem with one or more of the wheel speed sensors or the traction control module itself. When the traction control system detects wheel slip, it will apply the brakes to the slipping wheel to prevent it from spinning and improve traction.
