http://www.arielmotor.co.uk/latest.htm It is normally aspirated, so a turbo would boost the power wayyyy up.
I got confused, the 3.5 seconds somehow became 300hp in my mind, and I didn't check back. My bad

Ive never seen a production K-series engine have an output of 220 before, thats really stretching the limits of it. It wont be as simple as bolting a turbo on that motor. It dont say what the compression ratio is but its gonna be sky high.
Even with a turbo its not going to get much higher than that. On a motor that will last more than 10ks anyway

I don't know how much the K can take personally, but a well built turbo 4 cyl can make 400hp easily. You do have to lower the compression, and unless you like turbo lag, you'll need a electronically controlled wastegate, tied into the ECU.

The Kit
I just bought the kit from my local Lotus dealer and i am in them iddle of building it... Pics when it is built.
I kept the kit around my garage for a about a year, because i just built a Caterham 7 and racing modified it to sell. But I think I want to keep this car, it is amazing. |

The 340R doesn't come as a kit. That kind of defeats the purpose of the car. I smell a little BS here, how about the rest of you?

My firend 'got me up' a kit, and as he builds all the cars, we managed to come to an agreement.

cars
Most cars i have ever had I have built, I just enjoy the satisfaction of building cars that i can enjoy for a long time afterwards. This was the case of the Lotus 340R. i didn't want to buy the car, I wanted to build it. that way it would be perfect for me.
