Fuses

I have an 87 TBird Turbo Coupe that has been stored for fourteen years. Gas tank sprung a leak so had to change it. Replaced the fuel pump also. But the new battery was installed wrong and the starter solenoid was fried. Replaced it. Fuel pump works fine, and the car cranks fine but does not start. Where are the fuse links located in the engine compartment? I have yet to check the fuse box under the dash but will do so tomorrow. Hoping that a fuse link fried and replacing it will fix this. Lights and all ( except sunroof ) seem to be working. Any help would be appreciated. Just got back from overseas assignment and need this car until I can get a new one and restore this one.

Re: Fuses

I am not trying to steal your post but I am new to to site and couldn’t figure out how to creat a new post. However I have the same problem with a 1957 Tbird. Battery hooked up wrong, must have blown a fuse and have to start the car by jumping the solenoid with the key on. Turning the key results in nothing, no clicking or starter engaging. Anyone know if there is an inline fuse that has to be replaced. Everything else works except for the radio

Re: Fuses

My guess is the switch itself is bad. Been a long time since I looked at one of those, but if I remember right it only had 3 wires. One for power coming in, one for power on and one to start. I would check with a tester to see which wire has power always, which gets power from that one when key is put to just on, then see if the starter one gets power when key put in crank position. That should tell you if the switch is good or not. If it seems good, them might be after that point in the wire. I don't remember a fuse after that point.
