hard starting
Two of my friends have cavaliers with 2.2 engines and both crank excessively before starting my first thought was a fuel pump or regulator issue but one of the cars has had both replaced recently. My question is is this a common problem and what steps should I take to find out what the problem is without replacing a lot of needless parts.

Mine starts right up...but I have ALL new injectors and coils... Does it throw any codes or pending codes ?.....How about fuel filter ??? and new plugs/wires ????
Also have the battery check... Load test at Parts Shop...I know in my area..Advance Auto will test for free.... Cheers Mater ...good luck .... Last edited by Helmuth48; 10-18-2010 at 07:23 PM. Reason: Spelling |

Re: hard starting
If you press the gas pedal down a little, does it start right up? If so, sounds like the TPS. That fixed my Cavalier with that problem.

Re: hard starting
need to do some diagnoising i'd start with fuel pressure but you'll need a gauge for checking
