I meet him up, and we drove their ( 40min away ), When I get their I just go thru ( without pay $10 ) so they stop me and told to me to pay, I told them I new so I dont know the rule, they ask me if I want to race I say no ( If I do I have to pay $10 more buck ), man their alot alot race car here, after 30min I start to love this place, some dude come to me, and told me to race, then he ask me " did I pay $10 more, to get a purple color band, that you wear in your left hand ), I say no, then he gave me one, I went to down the track, I dont know what the fuck those yellow light it, I go pass it a litttle, then the guy at the track told me, go back a little, then I went back a little, he explain how to light work, after run, my friend run to me and gave me this payper with some # ( I dint know what are those ) here my first # at the track ( IT SUCK ASS, BUT THIS IS MY FIRST TIME AT THE TRACK, THESE # IS REALLY REALLY BAD, even I dint knew what the fuck those # mean )
First run, I wasn't push hard, I shift to all fift gear. )

2.59
11.30
60.39

Second run, my friend told me, dont have to shift all gear, when you in third you will be done already. This time I push harder.

11.24
66.48

I will practic some more next week .

Re: Just back from race track for the first time

yes, rich, likely from a boost leak

I'm assuming your were running the 1/8 mile track. However, I don't understand how you were able to run a 1.4x 60 foot. That's impossible without some serious mods as far as I know. Yeah, the numbers are pretty crappy, your car is wounded, run a boost leak test, 90% of the time that's what the problem is. My calculator shows that's around a 17 at 75 mph. Way slower than stock. Slower than a civic

Re: Just back from race track for the first time

I'm guessing that you're running at an 1/8th. That means your first is the 60' time, the second is your 1/8th time, and the 3rd is your 1/8th speed. Just keep working on it and you'll get better.

Edit: Pretty sure he meant a 2.43. A 1.43 is rediculous, you need to be running like damn 9's to do that.

Re: Just back from race track for the first time

I woke up at like 12 and went to a horse track today. It was pretty sweet. We (18,18,24) were sorta hitting on some ladies that were like 42,41, and like 38. They are pretty cool though, one lady gave me her tequila. That shit is gross .

Re: Just back from race track for the first time

mmm, I love tequila.

Killer, I'm not AWD so I don't know all that much about launching, BUT there is a general idea.

Rev to around 5500 or so, you'll find out what's best with your setup. Slip the clutch slowly, try to keep the rpm's high, so you don't bog, you'll get more comfortable with it as you try again. Whatever you do don't just rev high and let go of the clutch.

If you really want to get it down, go back and just work on 60 foots over and over, just cruise down the track after you pass 60.

I'm sure some AWD guys will chime in with better ideas.

Holy fuck kiler! I thought you were supposed to just dump it at around 5500 when you launch but I maybe and probably am wrong.

Re: Just back from race track for the first time

When I dump my clutch at 4500-5500 I do bog. the revs drop all the way to near 3000 when i do way out of the power band. When I do that I get consistent 1.9 60'. When I rev to 7000 and let it slip fast but not completely dumped, I get into 1.6's> Thanks Gtech. >>Its not a total waste of money.

Re: Just back from race track for the first time

You dont want to dump the clutch... Nor do you want to slip it slowly. Thats how you fuck up a good clutch.

Rev to around 5500rpms and quickly release the clutch. Slip it fast but dont dump it. This will usually work out the best for people. I tend to use the ebrake and preload the drivetrain but thats for a different day once you master launching.

Re: Just back from race track for the first time

Just back from track again today . I bought 2 of my new friend ( they just came to this country, not too long ago ), one of them own a Subaru WRX, and other one is Lancer EVO IX, I take them to the track, I was lost on the wood, cause this is the second time I been there, so I cant really remember the way, I broke one of my fog light, cause I hit the hump full of mud, my engine is cover with mud), any way after 20 min we finally find the yunk yard track, when we get there THEY CLOSE !!!, ( 11:30 pm ), I went inside and still saw the owner, he told me come back tomorrow, I told him, this is the first time I bought 2 my new friend, I gave him $20 extra, ( my friend own a Subaru, START DRIFFTING AT THE PARKING LOT , he pretty good, he was drift in China before, I told him not to do that again here ) any way, the owner turn on the track light , just for us, Me and WRX line up, first I was launch too easy, he beat me 2 car, second time I launch hard, and beat him by a car, then at the end of the track, he catch up on me, now I can feel how AWD feel . after 3 time around the track, the owner finally told us come back tomorrow, for free. So we will meet up again at the track.

on the way home, after every one on their own, I take my big brother home, there a cop that follow me, he not stop me right away, he wait until I pull over to my house, then he stop me ( that some shit right there ). He told me that ( RRE licent plate frame, is ILLEGAL !!!, and he told me I have to fix my tint window ( 5% ), any way tomorow Im gonna change it to 15%. Good night every one.
