Lightbulb Not so Bright Mods

Dont you love it when a mod closes a thread or trys to tell you that your wrong about something, yet there post sounds so dumb it isnt even funny. Like in Politics, investments, and currant affairs, I made a post asking for people to tell me what their president did lately that has had a major effect on the country or the world and the thread gets closed with this post>Thread closed.

Actions taken by people now will affect the future.
No one in this forum can see the future.

Therefore, no one can say what impact current activites of any individual or group will have on any country or the world in the future.

Here is another one, in Hot or Not, I made the point that the auto news desk was full of f&f2 posts and said>There should be an entertainment section for music, movies, t.v., etc. I know I am not the first person who has said this. The mod came back and told me there is such a place, but when I asked him where he didnt answer me.

If you have a problem with a moderator, take it up with them privately. You are only making your case less attractive by making this a public scene. I will leave this thread open, so that you won't run around opening threads about me now, but it WILL be closed later once you've gotten your issues resolved.

I dont have a problem or any issues. Just voicing my opinion on things I see. I dont mean to get anyone pissed off, like it says right behind Stress release> dont be offended by anything you read.

The Current Affairs forum is for discussing current affairs, not baiting a flame war by implying that no country other than yours makes any difference in the world.

Jay took the words right out of my mouth, so to speak.

And the tv etc forum is in Off Topic, the most logical place it would be. Think about it for a minute.

I think the thread title should be, "not so bright members".

I don't normally get involved in any of these arguments, but as somebody that is only a member on AF, but a moderator on another board, I think I can be less partial.

This whole argument is two-sided.

There are members out there that moderators would love to able to reach out and slap something stupid, these members are so dumb, post the biggest load of dumb crap, yet manage to stay clean enough that you can't get rid of them.
These are the members that ask why there is no "XYZ" forum, which the member would actually find does exist if they just opened their eyes and performed a few more mouse clicks, they would find it does exist.
They are the members that tend to get flamed for stupid statements, but still manage to stay clean enough that the mods can't actually ban them......

On the other side of this coin, there is the moderator.....and I will say all this as a counter argument......
There are some moderators that seem to forget they were once a regualr member, and even as a moderator, they are a member. They seem to think that because they carry the title, you should instantly bow down and pay homage......
There are some moderators that will engage in a debate, but when they realise they are losing the debate, close the thread.....or delete posts that they don't like.....the list carries on.....

Either way, my point is, there are both bad members and there are bad mods.

I agree with what Tangie says, and it is also a matter of respect, if you have a problem with a mod, take it up with the mod in private, not in the middle of the message boards. If you're not satisfied with the answer you get from the mod, or you can't resolve it that way, go to the top.
I am sure Igor and all the mods would much rather you dealt with the whole issue via the PM function, rather than create a thread attacking the mods.

Remember this, without the mods, the message boards won't function!!
Their time and effort which they give freely keeps the boards friendly and clean, so we members can come here and enjoy the boards.

*steps off soap box* Thank you.
