I saw apc on thier first tour with Snake River Conspiracy in 2001. APC kicked totall ass! It was St patrics day and PAZ had nothing but shamrocks covering her nipples and panties with a big shamrock on the crotch(these were floresent green btw). With the black lights on stage it was very awsome. MJK came out with some funky out fit and said Indianapolis ment party naked in Indian Then they jamed! Sometime MJK appearently had these stripper pants, because with one hand he ripped off his shirt and pants. Done the show in speedo's, what a man ![]() At the door, they handed out green condoms to promote safe sex. It was the first show I had been to in 4-5 years, so I was impressed! On to the TooL mystery on the album sequence and secret listning. I was thinking, split the songs "right in two". It doesnt sound to bad so far, listening to it right now. Seems to all come together. I just left out 11Viginti Tres. You all enjoy the TooL shows coming up. I'll probly not see this round. I havnt heard much of ISIS, seen thier myspace but didnt wait for the songs to download. thier just the salad before the main coarse

Re: Tools new album
yeah, i'm very excited to see them with Isis. Blair talks highly of them all the time on the website so i've been listening to them for a while. I also really like Volto!.
xero, the APC show i saw was 13th step tour, so Manson's bassist Twiggy (Geordie White), taken Paz's place as she was with Zwan. The set design was really cool, like u said, but i guess not as cool as St. Patty's day decor. Blair announced that this leg of the tour will be very special as the band will be taking full advantage of the enormous space they will have at the arena-type venues at their disposal.

Re: Tools new album
I really can't imagine what a band like Isis is going to be like live, but I'll be surprised if they don't rock every bit as much as Tool.
Neurosis is probably the only band I would have preferred over Isis to open for Tool. |

Re: Tools new album
Play the song Intension backwards. when reversed, at about 5 min 45 seconds, there is a hidden message:
work hard; stay in school; listen to your mother; your father is right work hard; stay in school; listen to your mother; your father is right

Re: Tools new album
It is said that phi, the Golden Ratio in mathematics, can be used to describe a spiral; a reference commonly used in the song Lateralus. What is interesting about this is how the Fibbonacci Sequence is used to find the Golden Ratio, which approximates to ~1.62. The Fibbonacci Sequence is defined recursively by:
![]() This sequence gives you the numbers also known as the Fibbonacci Numbers, {1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, ...} Here's where it gets cool: The song Lateralus is very closely tied around the Fibbonacci Sequence and the Fibbonacci Spiral. In the song, Maynard starts to sing at 1min 37sec into the song, calculated into 1.62 minutes, the same number as phi, the golden ratio. The verses on Lateralus coincide with the Fibbonacci Numbers by syllable. Try it, put on the song, and count along by syllable: [1] black [1] then [2] white are [3] all I see [5] in my infancy [8] red and yellow then came to be [5] reaching out to me [3] lets me see [2] there is [1] so [1] much [2] more that [3] beckons me [5] to look through to these [8] infinite possibilities [13] as below so above and beyond I imagine [8] drawn outside the lines of reason [5] push the envelope [3] watch it bend pretty cool, huh?

Re: Tools new album
I had a lot of fun last night. We entirely missed the opening act, but who cares really. The first 2 or 3 songs Manyard wasn't singing that much and walking on and off stage. My friend who is a really big Tool fan wasn't getting really pissed off. He then came on and said he appologises for not playing that well because he was sick. Don't know if he really was, but I'll take his word for it.
After that he song a lot stronger from then on, but you could tell he wasn't putting a ton of energy into it. The visuals were really cool. It's been over a year and half since I smoked last, but I wanted to blaze up so bad because it smelled so good. Unfortunately no cameras were allowed in so no pics. But there were a ton of people. They played for around an hour and a half give or take. They didn't play Sober so that pissed my friends and I off seeing as it's on of our favorite songs. I really do have a lot of respect for them though. Manyard called for a moment of silence for all who died on 9/11. Of course it didn't really work out, but I thought that was cool as hell of him to do. I didn't expect it. Overall I did enjoy it. My friends who had been before said the energy level wasn't nearly as high from the band, nor was the overall entertainment aspect. But I liked them and would go check out again for sure. It was definately a good night though. I had heard that Manyard was a former military man, is that true?

Re: Tools new album
yeah, the band postponed the San Antonio show because of "illness". I figured it was Maynard's voice, as its not the first time its happened. Some of the peices he performs calls for great vocal strain that really test a human's ability. (this is why Tool barely ever played 'Ticks & Leeches' live)
I'm really psyched for the show, i'm hoping they play the two Wings songs, as it isn't on the setlist at every venue. I've also been listening to Isis, i'm excited to hear them open.

Re: Tools new album
Isis
![]() Tool did ticks and leaches in INDY on thier Lateralus tour, it was great ! MJK can scream as well as he sings. I guess all singers hav trouble singing when they are ill, hope no one elses dates get cancealed. Id rather here them half ass then not at all.
