Re: Meltzer's #028 for sale through Silicon Valley Auto Group

Not at all. Its good marketing. Like i said, how many people look at Ferrari as oposed to the other makes? People who have $$$ look at Ferrari's on ebay. Its clever to put an expensive car in with other expensive cars that people who may have the funds to buy it may be looking.

Look - I understood your point in your last post - no need to belabor it. I stand by my opinion that it is silly. You have my permission to continue thinking that it is a new high in marketing genius.

Could you just explain to me why you think its silly?

Quote:
sil·ly
adj. sil·li·er, sil·li·est

1. Exhibiting a lack of wisdom or good sense; foolish. See Synonyms at foolish.
2. Lacking seriousness or responsibleness; frivolous: indulged in silly word play; silly pet names for each other.
3. Semiconscious; dazed: knocked silly by the impact.

Re: Meltzer's #028 for sale through Silicon Valley Auto Group

finally went and had a upclose look at 14, it was spotless except a small chip on the wing, looks like something had hit it while it was raised. It looked somewhat weird that only the center seat had the yellow inserts and nothing else. Otherwise though the car was beautiful, all the sales people were busy with customers so I didnt get a chance to talk to any of them although I think the owner of both symbolic and SVAG was there today. Sadly I didnt have my camera on me, sorry guys.

I know there's about a million photos of this car already, but here's some more, posted in another forum today:

The poster said they were taken with a camera phone.

I don't believe that "a million" is an accurate count.

Please post all that you find, and thanks!

Back in the day when Newport Autosport had #045, it supposedly had the same restriction. Then it went through Motorcars Intl and ended up, guess where - California.

I'm convinced it's a paperwork issue or something trivial as there are other F1s which have been registered here and all the cars are mechanically identical to start with of course.

This may seem like a strange question and i can't say why i'm asking but can anyone actually CONFIRM that the car at (as in sitting in the showroom) is 014?

Which other car could it be? There's only one yellow one in America. You think it's the other one from Japan?

Re: Meltzer's #028 for sale through Silicon Valley Auto Group

It IS 014. I can get physical, visual confirmation later today. But besides the plate and color, what other proof is there that it is actually 014. If you want to really be a doubting Thomas, you can always say that the plate was switched and the car was painted and the seat reupholstered in the same colors as the actual 014.

I am still waiting for the answer to what else it could possibly be, before I send someone to actually confirm, at least as much as anyone can confirm the true identity of a specific McLaren.

Mini magic, what else could it possibly be?
