Re: Seriously OT: The Real 3rd Thready...

TSC, remember if you use the B20 from the CRV you'll need a different B series IM to get it to work as well as other swap shit. That's all I know in regards to that. I've been thinking about it myself. If I get my car painted for cheap and I like it enough then maybe... otherwise I need something a little more up to date...

Re: Seriously OT: The Real 3rd Thready...

Well about 2 weeks later, we finally got that damn turbo'd GS-R Civic done. Crank seal was leaking yesterday (got messed up), so my friend replaced that; and no more leaks. Today we tried to turn it up to 10psi (it was 4-5psi without any boost controller). We must have pulled over 10-15 times to "open" the boost controller (Turbo XS manual) and with no luck. Took it back to the shop and searched for boost leaks (injector seals, charge pipes, hoses, etc) and didn't find a damn thing. My friend finally got too frustrated and decided to let me see what I could do (mostly because I was talking smack about how I could fix everything no problem; which was just me bs'ing). Sure enough, I actually read the directions, and now the thing is up to 13-15psi...blind luck. Now all that is left is make an appointment to bring it down to Pa and let Evan's Tuning do their thing (or if we can find a place closer to Syracuse NY, that will reliably tune Hondata).

Re: Seriously OT: The Real 3rd Thready...

You do when something isn't setup right out of the box. The fine tuning knob had to be set at a specific point, and the coarse knob had to be turned until the little ball inside stopped moving around, then it had to be turned to a certain point to get the right amount of boost. It's an incredibly shitty design, I'll stick with a TurboSmart boost controller if I ever go turbo. So fuck you...beitch

Re: Seriously OT: The Real 3rd Thready...

You son-a-bitch. Of course I knew to turn the knobs, but they had to be turned a certain way or it wouldn't work. I know a manual boost comtroller isn't exactly rocket science, but the turbo xs one is just weird (like no arrows pointing in the right direction to increase boost).

Hmmm...your headgasket is blown, maybe karma for talking smack to me? j/k That sucks.
