Here are a few teaser pics to show I am still building.

This was the first thing I turned on the lathe a month or so ago. 100% scratch built. Fully adjustable and functional. The spring was made out of spring steel. Its anything but perfect. I need to do some work on the adjuster collar.

Insane: but if adjustable is that threaded inside(under collar)? Less tan 1 inch! Well now I know some differences from DO and DO MASTERPIECS!! Congrats.

Thanks for the kind remarks. The threads 10-32, 5/32" diameter or for you metric people who havent converted over to the Standard units it's about 4mm.

So yes, the collar is adjustable to be threaded up and down. I'm probably going to remachine them and seal the piston with o-rings so that it slides nicer. Plus the collar is a little looser than I would like. It sucks being a perfectionist.

well Mike, youve reached the 2 year anniversary for this project, and what have you accomplished...?

Basic frame layout
Almost complete transmission
Engine block
Partial suspension components

So, we can expect this project done around, what...maybe 2015?

I have to say that this is a reason why I dislike posting my work here, and stopped for a long time. I always get the "why did you rebuild this or that" or the "you're taking forever" comments. Anybody who scratch builds knows what its like to redo things to be correct, and how long it takes to make a satisfactory product (i.e. Mark, Dirk, Bob H., Bob P, etc.). I have done a lot of other work, but I have chosen to keep it under wraps for that very reason.

Though it may have been two years, and there isnt much there, what I have taken away from it in terms of knowledge, and experience is immeasurable. My friends can vouch for that. Something doesnt have to be physical to be progress.

Like I've said, I may not know what Im doing, which I probably dont, but I go about it to learn, and have fun.
