:mrgreen: Yes!!!! This afternoon the "marriage" of engine and monocoque was there



the "ceremony" took a long time because both parties were not very willing



The holes which were drilled by the manufacturer did not correspond with the attachment points on the engine. So I drilled new holes and added a thread



.....and than it went perfect

An update with a few small parts, but first I put the car on wheels to see if it is "straight". Don't forget that the front and rear suspension are missing parts replaced by me





I am satisfied for 99,9% .....I have to make some adjustments and the wheel base has a small deviation. I thought that I finally left all the problems with missing or wrong parts behind me but......I found out that one of the aluminum front rim has the right outer part but the inner part is from the rear rim!! Now I have to cutout a 2.5 mm slice from the aft inner part and glue the parts with epoxy together

But now it is time for the mesh for the air inlets of the engine.



The mesh of the kit is looking terrible so I decided to use some 1:43 mesh from Tameo. It is rather rigid and hard to shape



I used a punch with a ball head and I folded the mesh around it.



The rim is secured with epoxy glue which hardened for 36 hours. I removed the remains of the mesh with a grinding wheel

and the assembled one. You can also see some reinforcements between engine and monocoque. Now comes the time where I need my solder station to assemble the cowling sections.

This update shows the building of the cooling system en some "unknown systems"



The main cooler for the turbos are made out of PE and white metal.



The bracket needs to be positioned very carefully, luckily there are some adjustment points



The coolers are finished and weathered



This bunch of PE should become another cooler. I love soldering :mrgreen:



And a few hours later the whole lot is done



It took so long because I had to put 128 louvres to 4 racks!



Because the gaps between the louvres are about 0.5 mm I decided to solder and glue them (solder-glue-solder- and so on)





....and it looks very nice



......until it drops and the glue joints are less strong than the solder joints



and here are the "unknown devices" by Magneti Marelli



The right device is something electric ( white parts are plugs) but the other two......I really don't know. I googled Magneti Marelli but It haven't seen anything that looks like one of the devices......so if anybody has a clue!

And this shows the three parts together. I will position them to the monocoque after I have fitted the carbon underside: If I don't do that I am afraid I have no room for a proper fit of the underside.
