Re: MY Eleanor 1967 Shelby Mustang WIP

Thank you for your nice words and support!

Decals have been applied to the body and the clear coat is drying as I write this post. In the meantime, I want to show you the work I have done with the wheels and tires.

First, I painted the wheels with a mix of Model Masterīs Magnesium and Titanium (sorry, the photos are a little dark). I assembled all the wheel parts:

Hereīs the discs with Shelby calipers:

I glued the discs in place. I also added aluminum lug nuts:

And finally, the finished wheels. I really like the look of the wheel/tire unit:

Thatīs it for this mini-update. Next, I will show you the cleared body!

da_ashman, I mixed Model Masterīs Magnesium and Titanium.

Well, the body is done!! First, I applied the Mustang racing stripes and side decals:

Next, I airbrushed 3 coats of ZERO clear. I really like this stuff, you get an even, shinny finish every time!

I got some dust particles in the body, so I brought out my sanding pads and NOVUS compound kit. First, I got rid of the dust with the pads, and then I polished the body back to a nice shine:

Here's the finished body. I like the final result!

Next time, I'll show you the body details and place. Thanks for watching!

Re: MY Eleanor 1967 Shelby Mustang WIP

Thank you for your words and interest!

It's almost done! I applied metal foil to enhance window trim:

Next, I applied the rear lights:

I did a headliner and added the rearview mirror and sunvisors (not included in the kit, they must be scratchbuilt):

I glued the windows in place with 3 minute epoxy and added the grilles:

I added a sunscreen to the front window:

And here's where we are so far:

Next, I will place the body over the chassis and do some additional detail on the engine area. Thanks for watching after all this time!

Sam,

Your WIPS are always so good. Lot's of pics, lots of details and good explanations of what you did. Cant wait to see this one finished. Another kit that's on my personal bucketlist.

Thank you John!Yes, I used Zero clear, great stuff!! For the flocking, I diluted white glue with water and worked in small sections at a time to get a nice, even result.

Re: MY Eleanor 1967 Shelby Mustang WIP

Finally, after 5 YEARS, my Eleanor is complete!!!

I did the missing panels to complete the engine area:

Then, I glued the wheels in place:

I also glued in place the final details...Side mirrors, door handles, windshield wipers, Side and back Shelby Mustang emblems, door locks...

And yes!!! The pony is complete!!

You can find more photos in this link:
