Re: 935 turbo Martini (hundreds of machined parts)

Try taking a look at the Alclad & SnJ lines of metallic paints. Both can produce very good results.

Re: 935 turbo Martini (hundreds of machined parts)

Ok,the rubbers in the Tamiya 1/12 scale kit are of very thin thickness, more similar to the true tires and sanding can damage them.
I would like to eliminate the small defect that has the rubber in the assembly to the rim as seems that the edge of the wheel is too big;in alternative at the glueing I could insert in the rubber the correct quantity of absorbent paper from kitchen to make a kind of bun so that holds the shoulder of the tires in contact with the channel of the wheels.
In the photo a detail taken from one of my finished models :the Renault RE 20 formula one, that has on a large use of Alclad II and other kinds of metallic paint, the idea is to visually check what color mostly draws near to the true metal and paint the wheels centers in the same color.

Re: 935 turbo Martini (hundreds of machined parts)

Working on the front brakes a new modification has needed, and the brakes air cooling intakes was opened in the chassis, the black shrinking pipe is now connected with an aluminum pipe machined at the lathe.

Re: 935 turbo Martini (hundreds of machined parts)

Thank you, i hope that all this will be of ispiration;the first brake almost finished red arrow indicate the new bolts and nuts machined at the lathe, green arrows indicate the brake pads simply made out of 1,5 mm flat rubber, blue arrow indicate the pads holder made at hand using telephone wire.

Re: 935 turbo Martini (hundreds of machined parts)

This is truly insane...

You're an inspiration indeed. Just to show what is possible with the right tools.
But I'm afraid you won't get me going this far with a build. I have enough problems finishing a kit by just building it (almost) out of the box...

Looking forward to you next update !

Re: 935 turbo Martini (hundreds of machined parts)

Thanks a lot of to everybody, Axel the only thing that I can say is that surely to work on subjects in a greater scale as 1/12 allows to have many more details of not "too small" dimensions the problem is to have a good documentation;I try to make this kit to the best of my possibilities: it is a gift of my wife.
Looking at my documentation i have realized that the pads holder is wrong in shape and new pieces has been builded.

Re: 935 turbo Martini (hundreds of machined parts)

For better screwing the various bolts I have built two hexagonal keys starting from 2 different hexagonal thin head cap screws machined at the lathe.

only thing I can say is "WOW"!
you can make a fortune if you recast and sell some of the bits you made. i'm sure many will buy them.

Re: 935 turbo Martini (hundreds of machined parts)

Thanks for the comments, ..
during the assembly of the front suspensions I have noticed the excessive gaps in the various joinings, I have modified the joints with simple objects to suit them as best to the existing holes in the suspension arms.

Re: 935 turbo Martini (hundreds of machined parts)

This just keeps on coming like a freight train! I think I have re-read this entire thread 40 times and I still have to pick my jaw off of the floor every time. I wish I had the skills/machinery to do this. Hell, you might as well build a working engine while your at it?!?!

Re: 935 turbo Martini (hundreds of machined parts)

I understand that some of you would like to learn to use machinery but it is very difficult to learn the necessary notions if not through a direct contact with a professional of the sector; many necessary shrewdness (sometimes real tricks ) can be learned only in this way.

The suspensions almost finished. Thank you for looking.
