ROFLMAO @ Olds 88!!

That sure cracked me up!

I've never had the 'X-perience'. They weren't THAT bad ... were they?

ps. Nothing can stand up to the sheer misery provided by a 1965 Austin 1800 Mk1 automatic

I have "The World Encyclopedia of CARS" by Martin Buckley & Chris Rees, $40 CAD at Chapters, and "The New Illustrated Encyclopedia of Automobiles" by David Burgess Wise, also $40 CAD at Chapters. Both are 500-600 page 5+ lb books.

Here is an esoteric question you may have not yet considered:

What is the link between the car you drive ... and a bikini?

Both good starting points. The book referenced above (the $200+ one) is "The Beaulieu Encyclopedia of the Automobile"..which can be had through Amazon.com for $285. It is an excellent set of books. Although I haven't weighed them, they must weigh about 30 pounds and have over 2,000 pages. If you get the original printing, it comes in two volumes. If you get the second printing, they will be three volumes (probably more managable that way).

Q: Ball joints not withstanding (lol @ Chris) and although the Chev X-body is apparently exempt ... the common denominator between the car you drive and a bikini is ...

Both were conceived by an automotive designer
Frenchman Louis Reard (ray-YARD) exposed his versatility on July 5, 1946

btw: the 'X' wouldn't represent a crossways (traverse) powerplant, would it?
