I'm sorry but that's sad. Sure it's competing with the ugly-ass Chevy Aveo and does look better. But why is it going to have a 109hp 1.5l vtec engine? Sounds like reverse engineering to me. The 1.6 sohc y8 had 130hp so why such a lack of power? The Aveo has a 109hp 1.6 I believe which makes it suck pretty bad too. But I'd expect more from Honda.

actually it's about being fuel efficient...the car came out in 2001 and hasn't changed since...forget the Honda principle? Cheap fuel efficient cars that will last a life time...and you know Honda has never been about power...i like it

It just seems like a backwards move lowering the displacement. Look at the late model Civics now with 1.7 or more liter engines. Is this phenomena a result of every ricer thinking civics are fast?

Anyway, I know that this model will do better than the Aveo because it is a Honda. I'm sure somebody will figure out a way to swap a B16/18 or K20 in one before long.

It's ment to be a lower end car, lower than the Civic. It'd be stupid for them to build another car to compete with the new Civics. It's all about fuel efficiency and interior space; a true grocery getter/daily driver car. Think about the Insight. It's a car that's on it's own, and doesn't really compete with the other Civic Hybrid models. I do agree that they should have at least made a higher hp model though. I think I saw it over at h-t (maybe somewhere else), but there have been a few K-series swapped Fit's.
