Thanks for your interest! Finally, I have an update for you!

The dashboard is finished. First, I painted the silver part of the dashboard. I sanded off the molded instruments and used printed gauges and acetate to do new ones. I added photoetched details to the radio, air outlet, rivets, keyhole and keys. I also used the steering wheel from the Scale Production transkit:













And here´s the dashboard in place:



Next, since I already installed the engine in place, there are some modifications I must do to the Scale Productions body.

The body looks great. Casting is very well done and I only need to sand some details in the inner part of the body:











The panel lines are good...just a couple areas to scribe a little more, but everything looks great:





Windshield wipers are molded in the body. I will sand them off to add photoetched ones:



The engine compartment panels are molded with the body, so I will cut and add them to the chassis first. This way, I can add the details I want to the panels:

Finally, the engine compartment is done!!

First, I added the brake booster and started to route the wiring and plumbing to the correct position:



Next, I placed the engine compartment panels in place and added the starter and battery wiring:



And here's the engine area finished! Everything is wired and connected. I scratchbuilt the shock absorbers heads over the engine supports and added radiator detail (you can see a little tube in the center of the carburator, that is a guide to put the air filter in place at the end of the build):

Dave, I am using Tamiya's Semi gloss paint (spray can). I spray 2 or 3 mist coats and a single "wet" coat.

First of all, happy new year everyone!

Finally, after some family time, I did some progress with my Eleanor!

The Scale Production body is very clean, and proportions look good. Only minor sanding is required:



The only pieces required from the AMT kit are the rear bumper and tail lights:



Is VERY important to clean all resin parts to eliminate any mold release agent. I use a mix of bleach and laundry detergent:



After cleaning the body, I scribe the panel lines. I want to be sure they will be there after paint/clear:









Next, I opened holes to mount the side mirrors and door locks:



I sanded off the molded windshield cleaners and opened holes for new cleaners and engine bay supports:



And the body is ready for some primer!



I applied Tamiya's grey primer as a guide to find imperfections. I had to fill a couple holes and sand some areas in the rear of the body:





Next, I applied another coat of primer. While I was waiting for the final primer coat to dry, I cleaned the wheels (I opened holes to add aluminum lug nuts):



I was happy to know that ZERO paints included the Eleanor paint in their catalog. I have been using this brand of paint and clear for a long time now and I get excellent results every time:



The body looks GREAT with the ZERO paint!! I like to apply 5 or 6 light coats and 2 heavier coats. I really like the final result (You can see my cat supervising the photo shoot):
