Interesting point Ramon: I guess a bit much for my skills, btw I'm wondering why I haven't thought before: power of workgroups!!! LOL

When is Mr Ping update coming?

Re: Ping & Pong present: Two VERY Red Ferraris

Look at those spectacular headlight grilles.. and you doubt your skills to put some dents in the exhaust
Are the grilles photoetched ?

Looking good this build..

Re: Ping & Pong present: Two VERY Red Ferraris

Wow!!!! Those grilles are A W E S O M E now please tell us how you made them? What you did to bend them to shape so well?

And you talk about a bit much for your skills????? C'mon!

But doing scratches and bents, is something we easily can do to anything, haha! LOL.
For the dents you just need to hit those exhaust pipes with something, you don't need big dents, just those generated by stones in the road, no need to redo painting. Unless of course you already assembled everything and the pipes are already glued, then forget it
And a coarse grit file can do some good scratches on the panels.

Keep this great working!

Re: Ping & Pong present: Two VERY Red Ferraris

Martin (awesome job you're doing in those 7 man) and Ramon: yes grill are photoetched: I done with 0.1 mm German Silver metal sheet so is quetly easy bend, also the shape of the lamp cover isn't extremely complex and have a fold in the middle: hoping I'll find a way to glue w/out destroy the clearcoat (super-thin TS13): usually I done it with thinned (in water) white glue, but this time I guess I need something like epoxy stuff to pull in position.

Ramon you're tempting me: I'm wondering abot minor damnages, I've to search something for inspiration: if I remember right J.Tremblett done something magic speaking of weathering/aging . But at least she is just a Ferrari: my fear is my hevy hand LOL

Re: Ping & Pong present: Two VERY Red Ferraris

Some jobs on brakes: front and back side photoetched, inner part turned in alu. Front side polished with SM polishing sticks (3.2K+6K) and 2nd layer brunished with chemical brunisher (for german silver-alpacca). I though to cut out the horrible Revell system with double rims and replaced with 3mm rod.

Fantastic and fun thread. Excellent head lite grills and I agree about the brakes. You guys just keep pushing the envelope. I keep getting Ping and Pong mixed up, which is the good looking one and which is the smart one?

Les,

The one who can't write English is the clever, good looking one.
The one who writes lucidly and eloquently is the ugly fukwit.

Does that help?

Re: Ping & Pong present: Two VERY Red Ferraris

I really like those brakes. Can you tell me why some of the lug nuts are chrome and the others are just plastic, are they being replaced or is that just kit chrome that didnt come off?

Mike.
