silent, depending how bad the bearing spun, it could have scored the crank, either u get it micro polished, or replace it

Re: Seriously OT: The Real 3rd Thready...

No more knock, check engine light, or over heating. I replaced the radiator (I'll post some pics of the bad one tomorrow when it's light enough outside to take some), bought a new thermostat, and did an oil change. I started the car and drove it into the garage and didn't hear 1 noise, so I got excited right off the bat. Put some water wetter shit in there for good luck and filled that bad boy up. We drove it down the road (about a miles length) and the temp stayed a little below the ½ way mark the whole time, and my heater hasn't blown such hot air for a year now. So I said screw it and just drove home, about 25+ miles. I didn't get a chance to check the run off tank because it's so damn dark out now, but I still have 1 concern. The second radiator hose (connected at the thermo housing) didn't warm up much at all, actually it was still kind of cold. Although it is a '94 CX (gutless 70hp) so maybe it won't heat enough to make the thermo open unless it's really hot. <- Yup, that's me praying. And I may have found the main problem, a nice foreign object that I found underneither the radiator (I'll take a pic of that tomorrow as well). But I only spent $45 today, so it wasn't too bad for a thermostat and gasket, oil filter, coolant, and 6qts of quaker state high mileage oil.

And here's what I found under the radiator when it was removed:

No, that's not a turd. When my friend saw it, he said it looks like a piece of spring that broke off and I'd have to agree. It's all rusted up and there is black plastic almost completely pealed off. When I go to his house (a few time a week) I drive by a few construction sites and have hit metal in the road before, so that's probably where it came from.

you know water wetter is bad in a street car right? It breaks down and destroys your system...

Re: Seriously OT: The Real 3rd Thready...

Lower radiator hose never gets hot in my car... fan on all the time.

Don't smoke and drive and you won't hit foreign objects and have to perform sexual favors for replacing radiators in your car...

LOL. The time I know I hit something (a big metal pipe), I wasn't high. When I came near it I thought it was a paper towel roll tube, but as I was about to hit it I realized what it was. But even then I doubt that was it, because it hit my drivers side tire, bounced under the car and landed cleanly on the shoulder of the road. And when I'm driving down that particular road, it's usually dark out and there are no street lights at all for most of it. So even if I did hit something (like that metal I found), I wouldn't even see it. And I didn't have to perform any sexual favors this time around, only TSC makes me do that. But I checked the hose again last night, and it was warm so I think I'm alright for now. Just going to keep watching the over flow tank and temp for a while (and maybe stop being lazy and pop my damn hood occasionally).

Re: Seriously OT: The Real 3rd Thready...

The last time I took a xanax I hit what I thought was a cardboard box but was actually a wooden box which put a nice big hole in my radiator. That was awhile ago. And when the front bumper grill became "custom" haha.

Why did you sell your truck? Didn't you just get all sorts of goodies for it? So I guess you drive a neon now right?
