Now, now I need all of your help. I need some mockup wheels/tires, but I cant find any cylinders to use as a base. PVC isnt even close to the correct size. If its close I can use styrene to make it correct. The rear dia is 3-7/16".

Any suggestions will help!

Please Mike, use metric for gods sake! For everyone who is´nt familiar with the "inch-system" thats about 87 mm, I think (after some calculating...). Does the wheel have to look and be able to work as wheels? If not then try to use a regular 1,5L coca cola bottle, its a bit concave in some places but I think you could use the part where the label is.

Ahhh, sorry about the english "shittiest idea for measuring" system. I designed the whole car in english, which most of my models are metric.

Excellent idea of the coke bottle! I just need some round circles with a hub (made out of styrene) to rest them on the spindle. Later on I'll have wheels machined.

Thanks for the reply to my Halo project. Your project looks cool. I know that all the hammering is hard work but maybe its therapeutic as well. It would be for me (keep me from pounding stupid Insurance Adjusters). Anyway, is it possible to sand down a block of hard wood into the shape of a planish hammer and use it as a "head" for your conventional 3lbs sledge?

Good idea, I'll probably use maple. For my Pneumatic P-Hammer, I will be building it and an english wheel.

Been awhile since I've updated. I apologize for the lack of updates. This project has to be the slowest project on AF. Waiting for parts, or something of the nature. Plus a lack of motivation lately.

So heres the update, started making the diff cover out of 22Ga 1020 steel. It will hold the mounting brackets for the IRS linkage. I'll weld it up tuesday. In the pics below I have the pieces just stacked on each other without the spacer that will be put in.


Four seperate pieces. The holes in the bottom left are where I will weld a detail piece on from the inside so there isnt a giant bead to grind off.

I was at the Hobbie store the other day and saw the new 1/6 " Muscle Machine" R/C car..it was a 57 chevy and it was really beautifull. Had really nice wheels on it! Would that work for you?
