That would be Johansson during practice for the 1987 Austrian GP. IIRC he also broke a rib in a heavy crash that immediately followed the deer incident.

Edit: let me make this clear - I certainly don't find the picture sexy!

Thanks for the correct info Alex. You would guess that a McLaren nut like me would have known that right?

Smile

I saw Eddie Irvine this year at the Amelia Island Florida Concours auto show the same weekend as the Melbourne race, he obviously doesn't miss F1.

Sure thing, well at least to me. There should always be an exception to confirm the rule, right?

Nobody said, "Post your pit babe photos here" right?

There are plenty of other wrecks in the thread, I didn't hear anyone cry about them......

Ray! Chill out! I was joking (sort of). I never said the pic wasn't appropriate here. It is! Great pic. I've seen a higher res somewhere. I especially "like" the blood mist behind the McLaren I just wanted to note for the record that I don't find it sexy in the main meaning of the word!

We can turn this into a quiz for the Ferrari Fans. Which car is this, that Ray posted above? Who designed it? and which year did it run?

Sorry to break it to you Alex but you better hand your Ferrari supporters club card in at the front desk. Wrong on all three counts!

Perhaps what appears to be grooved tyres and a narrow track fooled you?
