Which of the Hasegawa XJ-S's would be considered rare? I've found a few of them in a local shop and would like to pick just one up.

bigfrit, that's a rare one too, but the racing version is the hardest one to find.

Well, I didn't buy it for its rarity, just bought it because I like the model a lot, it's not your everyday convertible

i was just thinking about something; do you guys think that there is money to be made of "rare" kits?
I really don't know?
What is actually the highest price for a plastic (not resin) model kit ???

of course, cuz there are some pipz who collect rare kits and for some money is not an issue. the only kit that i saw the highest bid was a Ferrari 312T3 it was sold for $500US. oh and almost forgot a tamiya 928S 1/20 scale was sold for $300++US.

btb thats a great kit and somewhat rare. i always wanted one but never had the chance to get it and now think it's discontinued. nwayz how much did you get it for?

acunda, that 968 kit is rare!!!

hirofkd, you should really finish it!!!

You've got most of them, there were only a few Ferrari EM kits:
Daytona
Daytona Spyder
Daytona Speciale
Dino 246
Dino 246 GTS
288 GTO
288 GTO Yellow Version
1/16 512BB

Fujimi did several EM Porsche's, a couple BMW's, a couple Lambo's and a Lancia Stratos using the engine part tree from the Dino.

Thanks Vyron for the list, it seems that i'm only missing 3 1/24 Ferraris.

There was a 288 GTO yellow version (some kind of racing version right??) in one of the local hobby shops and i didn't get it, and now i'm torturing myself for that.... oh well, maybe i can find that and the other two in some other place.

Edit:
Can anyone post the box art for the:
- Ferrari Daytona
- Ferrari 288 GTO yellow version
- Ferrari Dino

Thanks

Cheers

As far as I know, it is a stock version kit inside, it may have some decals or something. The EM kit boxes were already so stuffed with parts I doubt there was room to add any race parts.

EM stands for Enthusiast Model, a series of highly detailed kits that Fujimi did in the 1980's. Parts count often exceeds 200 in these kits. From what I understand, these were the most talented employee's that Fujimi ever had, for some reason they left and formed the now defunct Rosso model comany.
