Yeah, That's what I thought as well. Now, speaking of updates, I'll have another on the weekend.... but what about your MP4/4 ???

I think we all post for selfish reasons. I started my first wip here with my Enzo and about 1/2 hour later I was checking to see if anyone posted a comment. I guess that is human nature. Too bad that nobody commented, I think there are a few members there that don't visit here that would really enjoy this build. It's builds like these that motivate me to do better and I appreciatte you posting.

Mike.

Yes please, that MP4/4 build needs to be updated. Every month or so I reread the whole thing just to see what can be done.

Re: 1/12 Ferrari 312 T

Yeah i will....but don't count the hours:-) I've been busy with something else that is again taking longer than expected....
I have bought and read a book about the MP4/4 ( Technical Appraisal by Ian Bamsey ) in the mean time.....gave me new ideas :-)
But back to the 312T.....i don't wanna hijack this thread with my stuff!

Re: 1/12 Ferrari 312 T

Another update
I started working on the rear brakes and realized that the brake disc assembly goes into the gearbox before you attach the calipers.
I thought about dismantling the parts but what the heck, I've got a lathe! I'll just make new parts.
I normally replace kit brakes without even thinking but the Tamiya discs look pretty good painted. So I used a razor saw and removed the hub details from the parts. Here are my inside hub machined parts with nuts and bolts added, compared to the kit pieces.

I then secured the discs in position and made the outside hub on the lathe and fit it all together

I actually thought while making the inside hubs that you would never see the detail anyway but I was wrong. Check out the nuts and bolts

I have had quite a few people ask about machined parts so I had better mention that I am making an extra set of all the machined parts described. Expressions of interest are welcomed?

Thanks again for the comments

Re: 1/12 Ferrari 312 T

This look to real, not only details on brakes but texture on gearbox and complete assembly, amazing.

Re: 1/12 Ferrari 312 T

Looks great Rob.

Are the nuts and bolts ones that you have made or are they the ones you listed earlier in the thread?

Mike.

Looking fantastic Rob! I see in the background you have some other oil lines thats have been made to look "oiled". Unhappy with the look or what? Are these MFH oil lines BTW? Keep it up!

Oh the weld seams look great too!

Chad, I tried .7mm fishing line but that was too stiff for my liking, next the Modelers 0.9mm clear oil tube but that seemed a bit too thick (and too stiff). So I visited the local Spotlight store (craft shop) and found this stuff

It's very flexible and comes in a variety of thicknesses. It's the same as I used on my 1/20 312T3 but in 0.8mm so it looks perfect. Just put a drop of liquid cement on it and it clouds up giving it a realistic look.
