Sennake, having seen and greatly admired your Toleman build, I can't wait to see how this one unfolds. Wonderful stuff! The way you explain what you do and thread layout is exceptionaly well done also.

So I couldn't resist to do a dryfit with the tires and the windscreen in place, and the rear wing kinda in a normal position, after fixing the remaining decals, just to see how the model will eventually look. Here are the pictures: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: WIP: McLaren M23 - 1976 - Hunt (Tamiya 1:20)
A while ago all bodyparts were sprayed with 2 coats of Gunze Sangyo clear. But as you know that is the time to stay away from them at least a good week to allow everything to dry. Today I think they have dried long enough so I pick up the build again, also because my easter holiday starts today.
![]() Next I punch 'n die 2 plastic disks and I cut 4 plastic connections. I drill out 3 holes of each connection, 1 to attach the part and 2 to connect the fuel lines to. ![]() Finally all the scratchbuilt parts are fixed to the axle and closed off with the original part end. ![]() ![]() Until the next update! Nice progress. Superb stuff. Hint: Icaro has introduced some velocity stacks which looks WAY better than what you get from Tamiya. Highly recommended.

Re: WIP: McLaren M23 - 1976 - Hunt (Tamiya 1:20)
After I painted the fuel lines part and after fixing the fuel lines as well as the spark plug cables I put it aside to let it dry (pictures will follow later).
In the meantime I prepared and assembled the main engine parts, after which I sprayed them in their basic colors; Metallic grey for the engine, ![]() gun metal for the gear box, ![]() and mat black for the engine covers (who will probably get a second coat applied later on). ![]() Next I did a dryfit of the engine parts. ![]() The windscreen that looks to be yellowish on the reference pics was sprayed with a light coat of clear yellow. ![]() Now I gotta let all the parts dry again and then I can start with the detail painting. Until the next update! |

Beautiful finish on the shell Guy, the tint on the windscreen look perfect too, just like the real version, great stuff!
