Re: 360 Cs Blu Notte

Looks great buddy!

What are the calipers from? The Tamiya 360?
I guess you etch the brake pad holders yourself?

Your interior building is really something. Those brakes are amazing. This wip is very impressive.

Re: 360 Cs Blu Notte

This thread is sleeping too much, I have some updates: a little one now, and more to come over next days.
When I started this job I was impressed by a detail in the CS: the muffler: this one is shorter and... it's shiny! It's made of polished steel (or titan?), BTW I desired really to do myself a steel muffler, so I designed it as PE parts and done... (well is not so simple, 2-3 attempts was necessary due that is hard to bend a steel board, also if the thickness is 0.1mm): let me show the real stuff:

First of all I sculpted a wood shape with the exact side section, in the second pict you'll see the base PE parts, with etched ferrari logo and warm warning: it seem brass but is the night room light, the material is stainless steel.

After a fitting test I decided to lower a bit the shape, so it's not 100% right now, but what interest me is the overall appeal: after a sample seaming with solder the panels, I decide for old tech: would be CA, I start to bend the shape gluing it to the wood.

All sides bent and glued: now I need to re-shape sides end (I reccomend Tamiya diamond file #400, it's fantastic also with hard steel) since I lowered the shape, you'll see in the second pict the sides glued, next step was fill with epoxy metal putty little gaps.

Last work was to glue 6 thin stripes, ever done by photoetching, but with german silver, since I haven't steel to etch at home, and the little muffler is ready for the V8, thanks a lot for the kind comments, something from the new interiors soon..
