Re: Re: Re: Meltzer's #028 for sale through Silicon Valley Auto Group

Wow, how on earth did I miss that post?! Incase you're reading this "jemada," thank you for taking the time to enlighten us on such matters and welcome aboard.

So that brings the number of actual owners to post on this board up to 4 (with 8 F1s total), right?

Pure marketing? Bad site management? Who knows.

If you are indeed the buyer of 028, than I guess you can ask them to remove it, if it's bothering you.

So.....can you confirm that 028 has indeed joined 014 & 045?

I can confirm it was still there as of yesterday. I have the pleasure of being able to drive by the dealer on the way to school. As a matter of fact they actually moved it closer to the front window (as opposed to slightly hidden behind the Astons).

As for their website, from all the time's I've checked it and then actually gone to the dealer, it's kept up almost daily (or at least everytime they need to make an adjustment to their inventory status).

Well, as long as the cars not being transported to its new owner....but if it's been sold, yeah, it's not cool to keep it listed as 'for sale'. That's why I prefer the setup 'stocklist' -> 'cars sold'. Also makes for better chance to find F1 pics :-)

Interesting. I was toying with the idea that he might want 1 in every colour, but that doesn't seem the case now

Okay, is this #014, which belongs to the guy who just bought the red one? Am I thinking about this correctly?

Yes. He must have really wanted red becuase the red one has almost triple the mileage the yellow one has. I personally don't think either colour should be on a mclaren

But the red one has two things going for it.

It's stunningly beautiful. (and I don't even like the color red)

It's never been to Brunei.

Well, i don't like the red and i think mclaren would have given it a complete rebuild once it got back from Brunei

One more benefit to #028:

"This incredible McLaren F1 is USA certified in 50 states."

Whereas on the listing for #014 it states:

"EPA and DOT certified in 49 states."

I wonder why, and I wonder what the differences could be that makes it so.

Shame that gerd doesn't post here any longer. This is the type of question he'd probably have a good answer for.

Re: Meltzer's #028 for sale through Silicon Valley Auto Group

Why is it that when I'm in Northern California I have a better chance of seeing a purple tap dancing gorilla than seeing a McLaren F1, but when I'm 450 miles away it's like a freaking F1 convention in a showroom open to public viewing?! Why must the universe taunt me like this?!!!!!
