Re: WIP: 2004 Corvette Pro Mod
nothing new of late. I got some new parts from TEM some transmission kits, and their reference CD. This CD is AMAZING. I recommend it to everyone doing a pro mod with LOTS of detail. It really sorts a lot of questionable issues out. I also got an email from best resin, and hopefully my parts will be arriving in the next week or so. The had some trouble with a fill in mail courrier who is no longer with the postal system. lol. Once that stuff arrives, I should have all of the peices to finish of the oiling system, including the oil plumbing to the turbos. Then all I will need to do is build the fuel cell and miscellaneous items for the cooling system and then the engine detail will just about be done. I also have a set of the new style 5 star front wheels coming from them as well, so hopefully, the whole front of the car from the firewall forward will be finished in the next week and a half or so.....so stay tuned for more

Re: WIP: 2004 Corvette Pro Mod
these things take LOTS of time. I would HIGHLY recommend sourcing ALL parts that you will need for the build before you begin. It will keep you from getting ahead of yourself. It also sucks to have to wait for a month or two for some parts to arrive.

Re: WIP: 2004 Corvette Pro Mod
Well, I havn't forgotten about this one. I started on my 63 split window, and that got the creative juices flowing. I got the fuel pump done and installed, also started working on the tank for the fire suppression system. hopefully everything is noticeable in the pics...

Re: WIP: 2004 Corvette Pro Mod
Well, its been a while since I've had enough time to accomplish anything worth showing on this beast. I've been under the weather the last couple days and was able to piddle around with it some. I've gotten the electronics in place. 3 timers, and the data acquisition/control box, and the Koni shock control box. The fire suppression system is started. I got the pull knob mounted by the driver cage, as well as the lever for the parachute. I took a few liberties, the lines for the controls for the shocks were left in white, so as to help them stand out against the gunmetal cage. I also spent some time on the trans and accompanying hardware. All that is left is to finish detailing the CO2 tanks (do they use one or two tanks?) and then that will be complete.....I've been toying with the idea of making some HIGHLY detailed turbos. I've been acquiring reference for them. And hopefully sending them to TEM to be cast. I've contacted Chris about the matter and am awaiting his response.
Here is what I've got left to accomplish on this beast, Skin the interior Mount the seat Finish out the firewall Complete the Body (upon its arrival) Oiling system Finish the Fuel system Turbo intake and exhaust Mount the intercooler Run the lines Steering Guages Finish fire suppression system Miscellaneous details When I go to the Lone Star NNL next saturday I'll be picking up the rest of the stuff I need from Best Resin. (oil tank, dual battery set up, moder front wheels) Well enough babbling and on to some pics. Comments and Criticism is welcome. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Looking good. What transmission that is. It looks nice too. What did you use for explosion cover?

Re: WIP: 2004 Corvette Pro Mod
the transmission is a unit from Top End Miniatures it is one of their 3 speed kits. The blast blanket is medical tape from the local Wal Mart painted with flat black. all of the lines are made from .01 styrene rod. this stuff is great. it is paintable therefore you can use it for lots of little wiring jobs. its great if you don't want to spend lots of money on detail wire.
I have since gotten the driveshaft and scatter sheild in place, as well as the intercooler and the piping going to the engine

Re: WIP: 2004 Corvette Pro Mod
Well, finally something finally worth showing. I finally got my stuff from best resin. and let me tell you. Well worth the wait. The wheels, the oil tank and the twin batteries should be enough to get this thing well on its way to finished. Tonight I got the oil tank in place, the drivers side suspension back in place. I got the oil lines for teh turbos in place. the radiator is mounted. and the wires ran for the fan and the oil pump. they will run up the a pillar post of the roll cage to a switch box.....I got all of this mounted. But I'm still waiting on the body, and hoping and praying that it all fits under the skin. The front wheels have been chromed.... anyone had any experience with the Duplicolor Chrome? If so, Is there any way to clear it so as to keep it shiny? well on to the pictures. Comments and criticism are required!!! lol.

Re: WIP: 2004 Corvette Pro Mod
well, I got word that my copies of the body will be arriving in the next two weeks. I had a chance to look at a pair of these things up close and personal at a local toys for tots drive. It really helped me nail a few things down. I havn't done much lately, and no pictures to show, but I have got the main panel in place under the car, it is going to all be CF. There will be crush-type panels that mate the bottom floor pan to the body, this is mainly done so I can get a little more done while the body is out. With the floor pan in, I can start running things like the fire suppression and the like. With class wrapping up in the next week, look forward to seeing some major progress on this thing, and hopefully my 87 wrangler monte carlo and all of the other stuff that I have managed to overload myself with throughout the semester!
