Its mountable on Civ models. One of the fellows here has a regular Impala with a push-bar mounted.

Re: Re: Re: How many Ex-Police Impala Owners are out there? (9C1/9C3)

theres nothing different in the framing of the cars between the Civ's and 9C's as far as I know. its just the police use (around me) the setina model push bumper whcih looks exactly like the one I have (made by go rhino) its just the setina, or other models have more support bars on the PB itself which you have to cut out small holes in the bumper and they weld them directly to the frame it different spots to stand up to more abuse that they go thru.

The one I have has a cool clamp system to it that I dont drill or cut anything and I have used it to push dead cars around. but any of the PB's will go on a Civ model, if you want to cut holes in the bumper and weld.

It gets bothersome sometimes, i'll have traffic pace me down the highway. Sometimes people still blow past me and cut me off... Ironically, 9 out of 10 times I see them get pulled over shortly ahead.

Re: How many Ex-Police Impala Owners are out there? (9C1/9C3)

I have a Black 9C1 with the two remote search lights. I also have two anntenna's for my Ham radio and scanner. My son has a Radar gun which we sometimes mount inside. Windows are dark tint all around (except windscree), I have a med certificate for the windows.

I often get people thinking it's a genuine police car but also still get the odd car blowing past or cutting me off. Often they pull up to pass, see the lights, then panick and pull in just in front of me.

Car is a 2003 with 87K, runs well but have the check engine light on for the past few days which I am ignoring. Left rear brake is dragging a little and making some noise. Just discoverd that the horn does not work or is not there. Rubber floor mats and vinyl rear seat. Wife hates the car but I like it so far. Bought for the heavy duty components, exsp suspension as I live down a potted dirt road.

Good luck to all

Just got an 02 Impala with the police package. Survelience buttom and spot light still works on it. Anyone Know the best way to fill in the holes where the light bar was and make it look normal?

Re: How many Ex-Police Impala Owners are out there? (9C1/9C3)

I have a '01 Impala 9C1 w/ 55k.

It was a former Long Branch NJ Beach Front car.

It came w/ all decals/stripes still on it, but they were covered in spray paint. Now, several bux and a few weeks later, it is a sparkling(and buffed) white.

The car has the complete rear prisoner containment sys. w/ "perp" seat, Setina Bodyguard full plexi partition, Unity spotlight, and Jotto desk console.

Resto is progressing. I have a poss. BCM/Passkey prob. that I am probably going to have the dealer fix.

I have a Federal PA300 siren, 6 sw. switchbox, Motorola Spectra A9 100watt VHF, and Motorols Spectra UHF 45W dashmount going into console, when I get the time.

Lighting- Whelen 90w 6 strobe unit w/ 4 strobes up front, 2 in rear(4 front on one switch, 2 rear on another) whelen slimlighter above rear mirror, Whelen TIR6's on rear deck.

Exterior - Will paint black (summertime) cover lightbar holes, UHF antenna on roof. VHF antenna on trunk, Have the Aircraft landing light conversion for the Unity spotlight. Windows, tinted of course.

Should be neat when completed.

I also have a 1999 Ford P71 Crown Vic w/ all goodies and 85k, white, and a former NY State Police Tahoe 4x4 Dk Blue Met. w/ tinted windows.

Re: How many Ex-Police Impala Owners are out there? (9C1/9C3)

HI,
I have had my 2002 9c1 Impala for 2 years..its a great car ,rock solid, smooth, and gets me attention on the highway. It was a former OPP supervisors car so it saw less use than the average cruiser. I t has cost me little in upkeep and many of the parts were replaced before i bought it..even the dealer battery was new! I hope to hear from any owners of 9C1s in the TORONTO area...

Re: How many Ex-Police Impala Owners are out there? (9C1/9C3)

My Impala came from a Police Dept in Southern New Jersey. Was a Detective's car. Surplus sold off. (9c3) . Had 1900 miles on the clock. Blue with a gray interior. The cops never took out the strobes and the lights in the front of the car. I love it
