Re: tamiya 04wrc impreza

Looks preaty accurate to me, some minor mistakes in interior and on the front bumper but all can be easily fixed. But then again I am not a real Scoobiephiles. Oh yes and rear wing has to be CF and it will be a nightmare to do.

OK, so I've looked through the instructions for the Scoobie '04 and I'm a little confused/concerned.

The instructions appear to have reference numbers to the p/e parts that are included in the seperate pack. However, there doesn't seem to be any clear indication in the instructions about removing, for example, the front radiator grille before attaching the p/e equivalent. Are we to assume that there are plastic/cloth mesh equivalents in the box, or is this a sneaky ploy by Tamiya to get us to shell out more money for the p/e set?

Check out http://www.1999.co.jp/asp/GoodsDetai...op_right_e.asp, page 8 of the assembly guide for an example.

Or should I just chill out and everything will be fine?

No really. TS-54 light metalic blue is for Tamiya CLK-DTM 'original Telie' not Alpine. Alpine color is much between TS-50 and TS-53. It's under special color 'TS Pearl blue'. I used that on my Redbull FD RX-7 that was on the Rotary meetup last year.

I would assume that the P/E grille stuff just glues over the existing plastic grille as per most Studio 27 sets..

Update on the Z available on Tamiya's site.

http://www.tamiya.com/japan/products...ismo/index.htm

It certainly looks impressive.

I think the seatbelt material comes with the additional P/E set, although I can't find 100% confirmation on either HLJ or Hobbysearch. If it does then it'll definitely be worth getting, as the picture of the seat looks fantastic, even down to the stitching on the belt.

The hood pins look like a comparison between the kit plastic and the more complicated of the P/E ones.

There are two types available in the P/E set, basic (part 15 in the pic below) and 'expert' requiring some fiddly assembly (parts 9 and 10).

You go take away "Santa's" keys to her 350Z and see what happens...

I believe it states on Tamiya's English site that the seatbelt material is included in the P/E set.
