Re: what defines a RICER??

B16 a ricer doesnt only refer to the car it also refers to the person who drives the car and decides to make there car look like complete and utter ass and as for u saying that you see true ricers in magazines. well i dont know what magazines you read but when im reading sport compact magazines i dont see the "true ricers"" whatever the hell that is i see true tuners. as for comparisions on front and rear wheel no one mentioned how far superior rear wheel is for drift

Ever heard of VVT-i? better than v-tec not always on only at WOT if you even know what that means....BTW do you know what the purpose of a BOV is?????? not just a sound .... i can agree with you i like front wheel drives (possibly only b/c i drive one) but GT500916 is right its not worth a whole lot except on teh 1/4 or 1/8 w00t

Angry Retard

Dave-o, I'm guessing you have a mental handicap. Front wheel drive sucks for drag racing. It is great for track racing. It is even good in rally (all wheel drive is better). Vtec isn't only on in WOT(wide open throttle). Let's see, I own an LS/Vtec, I build Honda motors, Oh yeah, I race too. VVT-I blows compared to Vtec. The Celica GTS has VVTL-I And it blows. The toyota has no balls at all down low in the RPM range. Hondas don't have a lot, but they have more. The VVTL-I kicks in hard but is controlled by oil preasure. This means it will only kick in at 6,000 RPM. Vtec is electronic controlled, can be adjusted easily lower or higher for the engagement point. The higher you set it, the harder it kicks in. The lower you set it, the softer it kicks in. Plus new Toyota motors have compression up the ass. The motor in the GTS has 11.5:1 compression, with 180hp. My motor had 9.6:1 compression with 193.5hp(crank) and now has 11.5:1 compression with 221.8hp(crank). Dave-o, just don't talk

Aftermarket bov's have very little advantage to stock. Most people do buy them for the sound. My friends WRX has been dynoed at 350 wheel hp, and he uses the stock WRX bov. Oh, and he works for Prodrive. Look them up.

Re: what defines a RICER??

Its not a bad idea to get a nice BOV. Tat was actually having problems with one of the BOVs he was using and when he switched to a Greddy type s, the problem stopped. You'll have to ask him about it. FWD is good in the 1/4 and 1/8. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA. Maybe in reverse. This is a good example of why reading is good and why some people should do more of it.

Yeah don't get me wrong. A faulty bov will hurt performance, and there is a point where you make so much power that a better bov is needed. I just hate it when people think they get more power because they put a bov on a virtually stock turbo motor. It's really funny to here all the WRX's driving around blowing off with loud exhaust, when that's the extent of the mods. My friends is a sleeper when it comes to a WRX. It's quiet and has a stock bov, but he pulled slightly on a Porche Turbo from 70-120mph and then the Porche started to pull. His car is pretty fast.
