Re: For everyone interested in TURBOING AN RS/GS OR TALON ESI!!!

Anyone interested in turbocharging thier 420a should search the hell outta www.2gnt.com

As for a few comments in this thread.....no offense; you guys are crazy.

Good god, PLEASE dont hack together a manifold using a 4G and 420a manifolds. Thats SOOO ghetto it's not even funny.

And, PLEASE use a vortech SFMU to handle raising the fuel pressures. Its adjustable unlike the FMU.

And you CANNOT use 450's out of a 4G as they are a different impedance aznd you would need to wire resistors inline and thats a PITA!
Just buy some NEW ACCEL 330's and set your idle FP to 35psi and WOT to 80psi w/ your handy dandy SFMU and you'll have a stock idle and be rich enough at WOT.

OMG, and to the choad that wants to put an honda motor in his car.

Your a disgraceful DSM owner. :P

Man, I can't believe I just waded through 6 pages of misinformation and garbage.

that is NOT how to turbo a n/a, non-turbo-ed, RS, GS, ESI car. Period.

facts are facts, and that information is completely and utterly false and horribly inaccurate. wow. I can't believe it.

There are so many things wrong with what is said that I won't even get into it all.
the 4g63 (gst, gsx) is a mitsubishi motor.
the 420a (RS, GS, esi) is a Chrysler motor, shared with many other "american" cars ie- the avenger, and neon.
You cant just throw 1g/4g63 injectors in, they are low impedance injectors whereas the 420a uses high impedance injectors.
You can't just splice in a 4g63 ecu, you cant even swap ecus from different year 420a's. They are incompatible to say the least.
You cant just throw in a turbo without some sort of fuel management. IE- FMU, SFMU, Megasquirt etc.
You have to deal with the MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor as it will not allow a boost situation to occur, resulting in fuel cut. The Missing link or a Homebrew FCD will solve this.
You dont need to replace your headbolts. lmao. unless you plan to run high boost.
You dont need to build up your bottom end unless you want to run higher boost than 7-8 psi.
A built bottom end with 8.6:1 pistons, forged rods, and rings will net you the ability to raise your boost up into the high 20psi's. You DO NOT have to do any headwork to achieve this. lmao. Headwork will only add to the output hp and is not necessary.

Almost the entirety of this thread is wrong. The only thing that is right, is that you can turbo the n/a eclipse. Hahn Racecraft offers staged kits, as well as Star. Notice, if you will, what they include in their kits as a base for what you need to purchase for a custom kit. Good info can be had on the internet, but, sadly enough not in this thread. Its a dark day for DSM owners everywhere if they were to follow this as gospel. LOL!
For accurate and helpful info regarding ALL aspects of the n/a 2gnt eclipse visit the forums at www.2gnt.com- Direct link- http://forums.2gnt.com

Sad. Just sad.

Re: For everyone interested in TURBOING AN RS/GS OR TALON ESI!!!

What are you talking about. This thread is how to turbo the non-turbo versions (420a). This isnt a build up for the 4g63.
