Re: FORD GT40 Mk1 1/8

Hi Dan,

It's great to see this finished - but only two years?! I thought I spent a lot of my spare time modelling, but my 908 is still going to be a three-year project. A little sad to reach the finish, as you say, but finishing this one means you can now start another!

There's so much to like about this one - overall fit and finish, quality detailing, the fact that it's 1/8 scale, the tyres, the engine bay...it's a real gem. Congratulations!

All the best,

SB

Re: FORD GT40 Mk1 1/8

My friend I spent 7 hours with 1 to 60 and read every comment mechanically translated, and then went and found the Lago. I am an ex car sprayer, not a mechaniqe. your skills are unbelievable. maybe i could teach you how to handle cellulose paint, but your engineering skills are unsurpassed, and i take my hat off to you. You are to me a Master modeller.

Re: FORD GT40 Mk1 1/8

Incredibly nice work Dan.
Imho something get lost in the mighty gt40 shape, mainly looking at proportions between windshield and nose section.

Suspect, considering the scale, it should be better to use as reference a real car (many replicas around today are deadly nice, and all manifacturers are too kindly in provide documentations and pics) instead of Trumpeter kit, that also has something mistaken in the shape of the car.
I am quite a purist over the gt40.

I loved the build up really a lot, specially for all the internal parts.
