Thanks for the comments. What brand is that LT1? I'd love to have one of those...I wonder if it'd fit though...being the Hemi is about 150ci bigger.

LT1 = 350 cubic inches

426 Hemi = 426 cubic inches

426-350=76 ; So, the hemi is only 76 cubic inches bigger. Where's your head at Mike!? lol

I must have been thinking what I'd really put in it...a 572.

Thanks Warren, progress is definately getting slow. Right now Im not sure about the body, I may have to go fiberglass. This week Im going dumpster diving to find some High Density Polyurethane insulation foam to make a foam and bondo buck. Then I will just make a big, and messy, foam model on top of the frame and then bondo over it. After that I can make some templates and such.

Re: Re: Re: Re: ULTIMATE SCRATCHBUILD: 1/6 Hot Rod (Progress)

Mike, you seem a tad obsessed with the 572. Frankly I think its great GM has a 620hp streetable engine, but I don't see why everyone is so hopped up about it to tell the truth. I mean, the 454 ZZ1 or whatever its special badge code is (cant recall off my head) makes roughly 600hp on a dyno. But, I suppose everyone has their own tastes, and when it comes to me and a BBC, a 454 is the path I'll take, well that or a 632 similar to that of the Jegs cavalier.

Hey Mike!
The next step wouldn't that be to put in a functional engine? With the lathe and some serious patience you would easily pull that off....and to join the choir, nice and serious build.

I dont know why I like the 572 so much to be honest. I guess 572 sounds cool...and it would be fun to cram such a big engine in such small clearences. (and I thought trying to fit the Hemi in this was hard)

Re: ULTIMATE SCRATCHBUILD: 1/6 Hot Rod (Progress)

Hey, it looks good but i seriously think you should put all of your other projects aside if you are working on them, and just put your mind totally to this one cuz its takin a real long ass time ya know , i know its a tremendous amount of work involved but i think there can be much more done to it . Otherwise it looks really good, if you have any pics of the body i'd like to see them.

Actually, its going on the back burner for awhile. Im going to spend a good bit of money, and time setting up a better shop in my basement where I can work, as well as money on my chopper (1:1). I really need to improve my metal skills for this project as well.

I do really appreciate all the comments, and the replies. Y'all have been a great inspiration. Hopefully I'll get back to work on it in a month or two.
