Re: MY Eleanor 1967 Shelby Mustang WIP

Quick update!

I painted the chassis (semigloss black) and the fuel tank (Tamiya´s AS12 Bare metal silver)

I applied Model Car Garage´s black flocking to the floor (Later I will do a couple floor mats)

This is a photo of all the components of the front suspension, inlcuding Power rack and pinion steering:

And the rear suspension parts:

Assembly coming soon!

So far so good!
Isn't interior in one piece, like Revell did?

In this kit, you get the interior panels as separate parts, making them easier to paint and detail.

Your attention to detail is going to make this quite the model.

da_ashman, believe me, it is money well spent! The pain will go away as soon as you open the transkit box

Well, it has been a long time since my last update (lots of work, the wife brought home a cat ), but here´s some advance...

The engine is in place:

And the front suspension is almost complete and in place (including the steering system):

The shaft included in the kit is awful, so I did a new one from aluminum tubing and the joints of a NASCAR kit (the joints are not glued yet...I want to check the final position of the differential to be sure the length of the shaft is correct):

Next time, I´ll show you the rear suspension installed!

Re: MY Eleanor 1967 Shelby Mustang WIP

Hey Sam, great progress its looking good. I was very impressed with my transkit, best quality resin kit Ive seen, the body might be slightly warped but hopefully some hot water will solve that, Im following your build closely, theres so much i want to do the same, sorry to be a copycat...
Cant wait for the next installment

Re: MY Eleanor 1967 Shelby Mustang WIP

After a REALLY long pause, I have decided to continue (and hopefully finish) my tribute to the mighty ELEANOR mustang.

I have updated my plan and I have a very good idea of the details I want to add to the model.

Last time, I had the shaft and rear suspension ready to go, so I have glued everything in place:

Next, I will scratchbuild the exhaust system and chassis reinforcements...I hope you still find this project interesting!
