The ruler sure gives a perspective...Just by looking at the cover you think...hmmm, ok, a cover, and then bang! -you realize how small it is!

Seeing this thread has given me ideas...I wonder if my parents will accept an addition to my Christmas list?

Re: Lancia Stratos Zero

Wicked! I sure should have a look in the Street section more often. That's one not to be missed!
Gandini rules and it looks like you are going to do his design justice!
Everyone, just think about the cars that were on the road at the time this was created...pure SciFi!
Much has been said about your approach to modeling and the envy expressed! You desrve it:-) I would like to have those tools but on the other hand i don't envy the time you ( or your brother :-) spend in front of the computer. It takes a lot of time until you get a part. At my job i get to torture poor CAD guys every day with stuff they have to model for me. They need time and they are pro's! I wouldn't wanna be in their place but i'm itching to try this myself...gotta learn that damn 3D-software.....
I'll definitely follow this from now on:-)

Re: Lancia Stratos Zero

Thanks to all!
This weekend I did anew the front part of the seats, because with getting of new photos I saw that the previous was not correct. So at now I'm satisfied.
The new part till not cutting (in the centre).

The previous version of the seats.

And now.

Reference.

Re: Lancia Stratos Zero

This continues to be one of the most interesting things I've ever seen! I'm curious though, the real seat appears to have 9 panels top to bottom, yours has 7. Clearly you could have modeled this perfectly, any reason for the difference?

I think it has 10 with the one at top that is in the darker upper part.

Yes! You can to count, but you aren't attentive. Look at my previous fotos and you will see all parts of the seats. In the latter case I've shown the rebuilt part only. I remind you as it looks now (without the left panel to better view):

Re: Lancia Stratos Zero

Lol, I knew you'd have a perfect answer on the seat thing. Do you break parts up in order to make tooling easier? But then something like the steering wheel - that has to be remounted and tooled from both sides?

Yes, I do. You are right, if some parts needs to mill both sides I remount they and tool each side. But some parts I force to break and rotate to 3D milling.

Are you planning to offer the 3d modeling files for sale?
