okay let me get this straight, for painting anything in a car that isnt leather of vinyl use these steps and correct me if im wrong.
-Take out
-warm enviorment
-sand
-primer
-paint
-then clear coat?

why would u have to sand before painting, i was under the impression that the parts were plastic meaning the plastic is that color meaning there really is no paint to sand to begin with, wouldn't u just be sanding the design in the plastic off....

you sand to get all of the dirt off and also to give the primer and the paint something to stick too. you can do without sanding but there is no promise that the paint will stick

There is such a thing as silver paint, i see it all the time. BE SURE YOU SAND, i was real lazy when i did mine for the first time and all the paint came off!

you dont sand with sand paper you sand with a 3M Scotch Bright Pad (purple pad). Also The Clear Coat Is Optional, Its Really Not Needed.

everybody i've ever talked to has used 320 grit sandpaper...so do u use it with soap and water and the 3m?

actually i used an interior prep solution. the solution heats up the surface, and softens the surface so the paint will stick. for the little pieces you can use soap and water.

i want to paint my interior and i was wondering.....it paint the exterior a custom color and wanted to do the interior the same color......so....can i use the exterior car paint or whatever for the plastic pieces?????i want to to be the same color,....thanks
