Well yes, the speed was attained on the highway I use returning from office, but remember that México City is at 2280 meters above sea level (probably a little higher in the area where I work), which is quite high, and the amount of oxygen at this altitude is much less than at sea level, so the engines always loss a lot of power for that reason (between 20 to 25%), I’m sure that a turbocharger helps , but I would like to see how it performs at sea level.
The service manager at the dealership said, that the sunroof was not an option because not having it is a passive security plus for high speed, which I think that is absurd, as many convertibles are faster than the Cupra R. A twingo at 178Km/hr!!??, must be insane in a car so light, It feels that the smallest breeze could make you loose contact with the floor |

For the sunroff, you must be right, I don't know.
Indeed, Mexico at 2300m, it's quite high, but i didn't know that engines were losing power, thanks for the info ! 178 with the Twingo 16v Initiale, excellent car in the cities, but on the highway, I preferd not going over 140, it's a light car indeed. Though, I made this 178 But I prefer doing it with the 156 The XM is maybe one of the most excellent car on the highway, I drove a 2.1TD (taht was not my car) and made 1 000 km between Paris and Nice, I was not tired at all when we arrived and we drove at an average speed of 160.

I made some time ago the route from Paris to mont Saint Michel, on a Fiat Punto, that I rented, and everybody told me to be careful with the police, as the fines for speeding are really high, so I just went at the same speed that all the cars went ( trying to do the same as everybody), but this was like 120, and the pinto felt OK, but this is also a very small car for high speed. In America, the cupra is not considered a big car, actually, it is in the top scale of small cars, maybe getting in the middle category, so for the city, uit is an adequate car.

The Leon is not a big car in Europe neither ! but it's bigger than a Twingo and this car can go at a good speed on an highway.
For the speed, for about 6 months, the controls are very hard, don't overpass 150kmh on the highways if you don't want to have problems. 120 ?!!! heu, that's quite slow, are you sure ?or was it on a "normal" road ? the speed limit is 130 on the highways here. And 1 year ago (and more), the tolerated speed was about 160kmh (100mph), but over this speed, you could have fines. Though, the radars were not very numerous on the highways, and you could know where the radars were if you were searching.
