Holy cats!!!!
I just looked at the files you created. Wow!!!! Those are most helpful. I hope to have a chance to pull my bumper and cover next weekend (I'm recovering from minor surgery and right now am pretty limited what I can do). I'm getting really excited about this. Thanks!!

Someone who knows?
Geo,
b-b00gie posted this in the classifieds under "IMPUL 212SR body kit..." "All the mounting points are the same. The only thing that is different is that the US bumpers stick out a bit further so you will have to cut anything that may be in the way. On all cars I've seen that have had to do this, it has only involved trimming about 1 inch of foam along the front of the bumper." Although the above refers to P11s, I think it makes sense that any imported body kits must be made to fit the JDM cars. Therefore any mods necessary for fitting imported bodykits to US P10s are likely the same ones required when fitting factory JDM spoilers - like the one you're considering. Perhaps it would be useful to ask around if anyone has fitted an imported bodykit to a US P10 and what had to be done. Maybe b-b00gie could shed some light on this?? |

I compared the Impul instructions and w/ my P11 bumper and all the mounting holes are in the same place. In my general assumption... US cars have more stringent safety rules and the US likes bumpers to stick out more (absorb more impact). From what I've seen, most companys keep the chassis and metal bumper the same no matter what continent the car is on. In the US since they make the bumpers stick out more, they fill in the space w/ foam or sometimes plastic. Cutting or removing this should lead to being able to install the cover (provided the mouting points are the same)... |

The way the JDM P10 bumper mounts is significantly different from the USM P10 bumper. The real questions will be if the JDM bumper cover will attach to the USM bumper or possibly if the JDM bumper will mount to the USM chassis.

George,
I am sure JDM bumper will mount on to USDM car provide it is the same model and plaform. I checked out the B14 Sunny (aka Sentra over here) mounting point at a bodyshop back in Singapore, the mounting point is the same as the B14 over here. But the JDM bumper does not have the foam inside the bumper... And the JDM bumper is about an inch to half shorter than USDM bumper. Hey George, I can help you out this weekend. I think my car should be ready by tomorrow. |

Geo, I've been sitting on this for a few days coz I didn't want to disappoint you if it all fell through. Seems a couple of guys down Taupo way died when they slid a Te into a tree going 200km/h or so.
Anyway, the bumper cover parted company with the car on impact and it is now residing in my garage awaiting departure for Houston. A small part of it must still be attached to what's left of the car but it's enough to ensure I got the bumper for free. The missing piece was torn off through the much discussed slot/vent, the driving light hole and the moulded groove. I've edited a pic below to show what's missing from it and I'll call my Sis' tomorrow to she what she can do about shipping. All the mounting points are intact apart from the one in the missing peice. Oh, it's blue.

I'll be working on the G20 and doing a brake job on the truck this weekend. As for the JDM bumper, I'm not quite certain you're right. T4 has posted several photos that have me concerned. The mounting brackets for the bumper itself appear to be very different. I'm not sure about the front part of the bumper. I think we'll know pretty soon though. I'm going to take photos and measurements of the bumper this weekend. I'm also going to do some work on the intercooler piping for Hotshot. :sun:

Had a better look at the cover today and noticed that the mounting points at the top corners where the cover attaches to the wheel arches are also broken off. Still, I don't think it'll present much of a problem for trial fitting - only small peices missing so youll be able to sight it up ok.
