Re: Now this should be exciting - McLaren versus Enzo on 5th Gear...

Just watched it. Bah. "ultimate road test" my @rse. Tiff babbled on like a fanboy given a 1 day free pass at disneyland. He'll always have my uptmost respect as a presenter/driver, but I'm sure Topgear would have made a far more entertaining segment (even without a track test).

Quite agree. The only part watching was the 1 second of the McLaren zooming by.

That Tiff Needel is a lucky man - this makes 4 F1s he's had the good fortune of getting behind the wheel of by my count. What a rough job he has.

We must remember the program is put together for the mass of viewers, not just a select bunch of F1 fanatics. I thought it was quite good, a bit short. But some thing is better than nothing.

Erik, Tiff has driven 5 F1,s by my count,(as you will shortly see )

Depending on what you have, it might even be 6. I had forgotten that he took one of the Gulf GTRs for a spin when he was still working/writing for Top Gear Magazine.

Hello,

I saw the Enzo was at Le Mans Classic ! I didn't know he owns a F1 GTR, so I don't speak to him.

There were 4 F1 owners (at least) at Le Mans Classic ! More than Goodwood

Phil

Hello Mr Bridger,

I would love to know the thought and actual processes you went through to decise on the prefered Mclaren and how you went about finding one. I mean it's not a car you can browse the Autotrader to find.
How do you know how to pick out a good one from a not so good (are there any bad ones?)
Do you haggle over price or is it taken that the car is bought for whatever the owner will part with it for?

Thanks, carbuilder2002.

Re: Now this should be exciting - McLaren versus Enzo on 5th Gear...

hello, firstly to payso, you already have lots of pics of 16R on this site along with the film...do you really need more?...the other car i owned, 007, you also have lots of info on prior to its sale to mr selldorf ( i did see earlier a pic of me sat in the car on the startline at GOS (circa 99 to 01)....secondly to carbuilder, i specifically wanted a slightly "harder" car than a road F1, my logic being if you dont / carnt drive the car everyday, then probably better to have a bigger adrenalin pump when you can...if that makes sense!! mr bridger.

Payso my friend - no need to badger the man for pictures the first day he joins.

mr bridger - welcome to the F1 forum. We're pleased to have your contributions.

I knew that you had owned F1 #007, but were you that car's original owner by chance?
