Looking gret Mick. You're way to critical of your own work!

Are you going to do the window trim after you applied all the decals?

I will once I've applied all the decals, cleared them and polished the clear out. Then I'll mask the whole thing up, spray the underside and trims X18 Acrylic black.

I could have just cleared, trim and decal, but I want to protect the decal scheme from the clear carrier turning yellow over time... Being silver, the smallest bit of yellow from the carrier film is going to show badly over time.. I'm cutting as much of the carrier away, but you can get it all.... It'll be fine. I hope

Re: In Progress - Tamiya Mercedes CLK GTR Team Sportswear

Made some nice progress with the decals, so decided to give a little teaser. I think if you can look across from the partly naked lady, you can see that the Warsteiner Beer decal does in fact allow this to qualify for the 2007 Motor Sports theme.

The door number plate decal was something I sat and thought about for a little while. It needed to be cut, how best to do this. It needed cutting in three places, where the bonnet can be removed, and down the door panel line. In the end, I took a gamble, and placed the decal on the area it was meant to be, and applied sol. To my surprise, the sol split the decal perfectly down the lines on both sides. I just then brushed it around the edges, and it looks like a perfect cut.

decals respond really well to setting solutions. In fact, you can’t seem to lay them down without it. Oh, BTW, the bonnet decal was one whole decal.. I cut mine up, to both make it easy to lay down, and to cut out as much of the carrier film as I could..

Superb job with the decals Mike, this build is coming along nicely after the initial hiccup.... can't wait to see more.

Re: In Progress - Tamiya Mercedes CLK GTR Team Sportswear

Ah, I can post again.

To you all I recommend you find another place to view this build if you want to, as I'm outta of here. Can't think why I invested time with this forum, I tried, I guess I’m just not seeing eye to eye with a few things at the moment...

Too many other things in my life to continue arguing it out on this forum over silly things. Not worth my time.. Sorry. See ya…..!!

Some people just never learn. You continue to insist on sending members elsewhere. You want to leave, then go. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. If you cannot accept the rules as outlined in the User Guidelines then you can gladly leave. In fact let me open the door for you. So for this little charade you will be banned for two weeks. If, and when you decide to, or realize that your decision was in haste, you are welcome to come back, but again, the rules will be upheld.

Now even though I do not need to explain our actions to the other members, but for the sake of clarity, I will. For those not in the know, the reasons why mick was banned (one day I might add) was for his inappropiate comments/reasons he left behind when he deleted a post. A post which had contained links to an off-site forum. The rules specifically state you can be banned or warned when "Advertising other forums when asked not too." He was warned numerous times not to post them. But he continued, and then he deleted the post and left the inappropiate comments. I have rebanned him for two weeks, for continuing this charade. Hopefully he'll realize we have rules and will return with a different outlook.
