bad driver? he should be hitting low 13's if not 12's if his compression is that high...as long as it's a gsr or lsvtec or b20vtec. if it's a b16 or ls, i still would expect him to hit high 13's without the nitrous. But, you didn't mention what his motor is....it could be a sohc i guess, in which case that is good.

Re: build a honda beat a vette

dang nooob you got one a them there vtech motors...themre slick. what exactly are snap ons..are those like big spoilers or seat belt pads? maybe some nos stickers??? man ricer..if youre runnin 13.24687954 secs youre gonna need a lot more to reach 11 seconds. its not like an apc intake is gonna shave a second off your time.

Re: build a honda beat a vette

ROFL @ foosh & tha n00b.

mmk.. basically, what I already knew, and this thread just confirmed it, is that,

1. You could build about any honda car to beat a vette in just about any aspect (except aesthetics... let's face it.. it's a sexy car) for less than the price of the Z06 is in stock form.

2. You would obviously spend alot more making your honda beat it in alot of aspects at the same time, and making it as "reliable" as the Z06 is..

3. If you were going to spend 60k on a car, well, I'm glad you have that much to drop on a CAR.

4. I'd still rather build the honda, cuz if you think about it, isn't that what it's all about? WE (collectively) don't buy most of our cars without at least SOME mods in mind... and after spending 60k on a single STOCK car... I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even be able to think of anything I wanted to do with it.. other than park it in my bedroom and wipe it down with a diaper once in awhile. Or sleep in it, since I can't make the mortgage payment, and the car payment at the same time... Man, I hope those leather seats are as comfy as everyone seems to think they are.

as far as the auto vs. manual thing... an automatic takes more to turn, b/c of all the rotating weight.. it IS POSSIBLE to make an auto shift faster than a manual could ever shift, and mercedes has done it.., but the fact is, an equally powered auto v. manual race, with a driver that actually knows how to race, and what the transmission will handle in terms of dropping the clutch, etc., and the MANUAL WILL WIN ALL DAY. There is no way that Chevy could accurately bill an auto Z06 being 3/10 faster than a Manual Vette, other than launch time, b/c even they know it's not going to hold true with anyone that knows their shit.

And that's all I got to say about that. (Forrest Gump )

And, uh.. someone really needs to throw a dictionary at a few of the ppl on this and several other posts, b/c it's a pain in the ass to get any excitement out of a fight that you're reading when you have to sit and translate what is being posted...

And yeah.. "I need a couple snap ons" man... I need a few snap ons too.. the tools necessary to make your car run right.. ya know... wrenches for those "bolt ons" you want. not to mention that besides a massive turbo with an external "helper" to spool it, I can't think of a single set of "bolt ons" that will make you run any faster than you are now... b/c everything you do to your engine requires that you tune it for what you're adding to get full benefit from it, even your CAI... but wait... those stickers you undoubtedly have all over your car, and the painted interior panels, and your "JDM" coffee can and 17 inch high fibreglas wing that you have held on with a sheet metal screw or two, and those pedal and seat covers, and that shift knob.. and all those AWEXOME NEONS... well, you don't need to tune your car for those... they just add mad insane hella-horsepower... especially since you think your engine is a phone.

Why? Cause it's like comparing a Civic with a Corvette? But seriously, it's like comparing apples and oranges. Sure they're both fruits, but they're completely different.
