Actually, Subaru's pickup was 4wd and it was called the BRAT. It made its debut in 1977 and the last year it was offered was 1987, I believe. That's not the most recent.

Any more guesses?

Last chance:

What was the most recent FWD pickup offered on the US market?

Newer than the 1982-1985 Dodge Rampage/Plymouth Scamp
Not the 4WD 1977-1987 Subaru BRAT
Newer than the 1980-1984 Volkswagen (Rabbit) Pickup
And not a minivan or SUV....the question is a pickup

Snowboarder:

Not bad for a guess. GM actually built FWD Chevrolet S10s. In the late 1990s, they produced and sold Chevrolet S10 Electrics which used the front-wheel drive drivetrain from the GM EV1.

NEW QUESTION:

Volkswagen started building cars in the US in the 1970s. Years before that, there were other foreign brands building cars in the US. Can you name any?

Hint: One produced cars in Springfield, Massachusetts...and one on Long Island.

Honda didn't begin building cars here until 1982...and Toyota was also in the 1980s. It's not them.

Mitsubishi didn't start producing in the US until the late 1980s, and BMW didn't start until the mid 1990s. Alfa Romeo never built anything here. But Fiat....

From 1910 to 1918, the Fiat Automobile Company produced cars in Poughkeepsie, NY.

It was one of them...there were more.
