I get all my Tamiya Acryls and styrene supplies there (I get a lot of that stuff) but they don't carry Tamiya sprays and do not carry many cars that I want. So, I get all that stuff mail order. And sometimes at Hobby Lobby half off. Hell, the shop owner goes to the half off sales! Them's the berries. He knows where to make money off his business, where his competition is, and where he won't make much, and has adjusted accordingly, and is doing well. If HLJ is really that much of a threat, then someone is doing something wrong.
Have you been to Hub Hobby in N.O. before? they dont have a great stock of cars because there mostly military but they get me car kits quick and have insane scratch build stuff. NO R/C at all. and lately ive been ordering there shelf stock cars which is to bad i guess cus they,ve had a Calsonic Z sitting on there shelf for about 7 weeks now. ive ordered the Fuj. Gallardo and Murc. through them and recieved it about a month after they started showing up on this site. there dynamite and i think your LHS just isnt trying to get you stuff cus its not a profit to them like R/C is. the only thing i have to order on-line are Studio27 or Hiro kits and PE. Ive already pre-ordered the Nismo-Z and the rereleases from Tamiya and dont expect to wait more than a month or two. they also stock TS spray and full line of Tamiya brushes and such. if they dont have it and its availiable in US they get it in 5 days. Just a heads up. or i get special treatment? not likely.

Actually, that's not true. The Aoshima Z-Tune has the new front bumper, pinched fenders, rear differential coolers and fender flares. All the necessary parts to make a true Z-Tune.

Re: It's Official. Tamiya R34 Z-Tune.

I've been to a place on Clearview but I remember not being too impressed with it, and I don't know the name of it. I will venture a guess, though, that it's not the Hub Hobby. I work down in N.O. a bit, maybe I will make a stop there while I am down?

BTW, did you guys notice the Aoshima HKS Hyper S15 is out? Two-piece Super Advan II just as we had hoped.

Whats up with the paint and assembly guide? It has the Nissan Cima.

Also aren't the Super Advan 2 supposed to be yellow?

Yeah, the directions are a mis-scan. The wheel color can be changed with a dip in a tank and some paint. No big deal for anyone.

I think Aoshima released a Z-tuned a while back (I bought it). Not a bad kit mind. Their latest one must've been in response to Tamiya's release. Looks like it has just been reboxed to me. There is no competition however. Tamiya will wipe the floor with 'em. Mine is in the HLJ payment process, together with Tamiya's p/e detail set.

CAN'T WAIT!!!

Despite the similaities the Aoshima Nismo R34 and the new Nismo Z-Tune are not the same. The Aoshima Z-Tune has the new front bumper, pinched fenders, rear-differential coolers and fender flares. These parts aren't available in the Nismo R34 kit.

I think the tamiya and aoshima are both 99% perfect, by the looks of them. And the regular Z-tune I have builds up great so far. But tamiya is always great too...meh..

I got my Tamiya R34 Z-tune from HLJ today and it says "includes" metal detail parts and shows a tree on the side of the box...is this the same as the PE set sold separately?
