It seems as though if you were to order a Solstice now, it would not be delivered until September of next year.

ARLENA SAWYERS | Automotive News

Posted Date: 12/16/05

The Pontiac Solstice will keep its value better than any other [all-]new 2006 domestic-brand vehicle, Automotive Lease Guide predicts.

The guide, which sets residual value standards for the industry, predicts the Solstice will hold 54.0 percent of its sticker price after three years. The roadster has a base price of $19,995, including shipping.

The new Pontiac Solstice GXP will be shown at the 2006 L.A. auto show.

It is rumored to have a 2.0 liter turbocharged direct-injected I-4 making 260 hp and 260 lb-ft.

New 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP

press release:

The heart of the Solstice GXP is the Ecotec 2.0-liter turbo engine, GM’s first direct injection offering in North America . It produces 260 horsepower (194 kw) and 260 lb.-ft. of torque (353 Nm), * making it GM’s highest specific output engine ever, at 2.1 horsepower per cubic inch of displacement (130 hp / 97 kw per liter), and the most powerful production engine in the Ecotec family.

*SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) certification pending. A new voluntary power and torque certification procedure developed by the SAE Engine Test Code committee was approved March 31, 2005. This procedure (J2723) ensures fair, accurate ratings for horsepower and torque by allowing manufacturers to certify their engines through third-party witness testing.

In my opinon, the steel/sand leather seats look better.

Dual-scroll turbocharger

Dual-scroll means that the exhaust manifold and turbine housing have two pathways for exhaust to flow. This allows the exhaust gases from the two cylinders that fire won't be mixed with the other two that aren't fired.

You can see the split in the turbine housing below.

There are plenty available in Dallas. Every Pontiac store has at least a half dozen on the lot. Not a lot of color choice though, most are black. If you really want one fast, it might be worth a field trip.
