Re: In Progress - Tamiya Ferrari Enzo

White looks superb. Between your model and the picture of a white 1:1, you might convert me, it's just a gorgeous color for this car. The paint is super clean, too, Mr. erm... "Clean...."

![]() To compare the 2 kits is difficult. The Revell kit makes a very nice replica and has enough detail and features for 'most' modellers. Not every modeller needs a Tamiya kit to produce a beautiful replica that they can be proud of. I think most people that have seen my Revell Enzo in person can say the kit produces a nice Enzo. I've defended the Revell Enzo Ferrari kit numerous times. This kit is the flagship for both Tamiya and Revell. They are both well done. If you want an accurate model for a fair price, I'd definately say buy a Revell Enzo. If you want a scale replica for twice the money or more, and have the skills needed to produce it, Tamiya is the kit for you. At the end of this build I'll snap some pics of both together definately. I can say I had fun building the Revell. This Tamiya build is challenging. It will put any modeller to the test.

I've made some slow progress on this one since painting it.
The engine bay has been completed and the side intakes and rear wheel wells added. I have polished and added the lights to the rear bumper. I still need to add the PE mesh and glue it in. ![]() I had a little oops involving superglue. I HATE that stuff. It is certain to ruin something, and it did. Some myteriously ended up on the engine cover, and sanding it smooth thinned the paint and primer to where the yellow body came shining through. The cover wasn't fitting flush with the sides, So I took the opportunity to fix it now. I will have to respray this piece. It can be done last thing, so I will move to the doors and front end next. ![]() Here it is with the other 2 reasons the build is going slow.

Mr. Clean.... (good one)
The Enzo is looking great. You say it's coming along slow but you're making more progress than I am on my projects.

Re: In Progress - Tamiya Ferrari Enzo
I would have to agree. I can hardly keep up with your enzo(progress and finish wise) and your doing 3 models! You deserve a cookie!

2) Then I had a cursing fit. 3) I sanded it off lightly and polished it out to a nice shine. It wasn't quite perfect, so I decided to hit it with the sandpaper "one last time". About 10 seconds later the yellow started coming through, and then I repeated step 2.. Thanks for the comments guys!

Now you have gone and done what I wanted too!! LOL
I have been debating the color of my next Enzo for a while and I was leaning toward white. I have a 2nd Enzo, SMS Super Detail Kit (http://www.scalemotorsport.com/defau...uperdetailkits ), SMS Harness set (http://www.scalemotorsport.com/default.asp?photoetch ), and Acu-Stion Axle Shaft/spinners ( http://www.mediamixhobby.com.sg/cata...oducts_id=1318) sitting on my desk at home getting ready to start. My problem is that I spent like 100 plus hours on my first stock Enzo and made it the best I thought it could be. Soon did I realize that all these other goodies were available. Now I am going to undertake another extremely long build. Oh well, that is why models are fun right?! LOL Nice build Matt, color looks great!!! Hopefully I will learn how to post pictures with HTML and show everyone, til then.....

It's almost done.
I love posting the last set of pics in the progress thread.I still have to re-paint and add glass and mesh to the engine cover, after having the superglue oops.. Once that's done I'll shine her up and post some completed pics. Here it is almost done. Thanks to all who followed the build and commented. ![]() ![]()
