Zeljko, you are far too kind. The last couple of months have been extremely slow. I just did some work on the interior last night, so maybe the progress will pick up again soon.

Dont mean to ressurect, but I have to comment on the work of this caliber.
I just went through the entire thread. Absolutely stunning work. I wish I had seen this thread earlier. The work is amazing, great inspiration. Amazing how a halfway decent kit can turn to magnificent by a talented builder.

Some S-L-O-W progress for everyone....
First-up, an overall shot of what it looks like today. Not much different at first glance, other than a few details here and there ![]() Just an overall shot of the rear end, which was shown above in earlier post. The fuel 'tubes' have some some painted on flex-joints, which I'm not really happy with yet. The black bands are strips of electrical tape. Not really sure why I did that, but I was hoping they would look like 'clamps' of some sort, and have a bit more texture than just paint. I suspect the whole thing will undergo more paint in the future. For now, they are what they are. The black box at the back is where the air hoses will eventually hook up to (haven't got that far yet...). I'm not really sure how it works in real-life, but in ref pics it sorta looks like this 'air-box' might be hooked to the diffuser under the car?? ![]() I added the battery and some electronic boxes into the interior. There are parts for this in the kit, but they're molded into the interior, and I didn't think they lookd all that great. I added some wiring, even though they're not really the right colors. Still have some paint touch-ups here and there, and some sort of straps that I assume would have held the battery in place. The battery cables will be painted later on, and are made out of solder. I'm pretty happy with the way the battery terminals turned out - I just flattened the end of the solder, and then drilled a hole in it. Looks Ok to me. That other little black bottle beside the battery was scratchbuilt too. ![]() ![]() I tried to put some heat-foil on the firewall. This is just chocolate-bar wrapper, with some MicroScale foil glue on the back. I intentionally made it wrinkly and patchy, as that's they way it seemed to look in my ref. photos. ![]() I took a shot at making some exhuast headers from solder. They're not great, but better than the kit piece (sorry, forgot to take a comparison pic of the kit piece). The collector ends are just heat-shrink tubing (got that trick from AF) that will eventually be painted silver/grey. The tubing dimentions might be a little too small for scale correctness, but they won't be that noticeable in the final product anyways... Coming along nicely! I think your slow project makes the build justice, but if I compare with myself I tend to cut some corners in the end of the slow builds. Don't step into that one please :-) I think this can be so great.

Thanks for the comments, but I guess I'd caution you if you're thinking my 'wiring' is in any way correct. Alot of what I've done is just 'artistic license' and in no way replicates how the real car wires/hoses would be hooked up. It was just too complicated from my ref photos to try to figure out. I just tried to make it look a little 'busy'... If you're interested in some ref. photos of the real thing, PM me and I'll point some out to you. Murray |

the "airbox" provides air to the pneumatic rams, they are used to lift the car up in pit-stops for tyre changes, it faster an easier than using jacks thats what the round things are in the floor of cars like the 2003 skyline GT-R JGTC an CLK-DTM 2000 they are just rams for raising the car
