Why the Skyline is not sold in America

they wont do it because 90% of the people cant pay the price, you think they havent tought about that, i being trying to sell my skyline for the past 2 months, its the actuall one from the movie 2fast 2furious and im only selling it for 48k, you think nissan would bring the skyline here, when the ones that love that car can't be able to pay for it.

the "hero" skyline featured in the movie is owned by craig leiberman, and was owned by hiro of mrex before craig bought the car.

if you own the one thats for sale on ebay......have fun selling the car for more than 20k after what hapened to it in the movie. noones going to pay that much for the non street legal jump car.

your completly wrong. nissan didnt bring the car here because it doesnt meet us crash saftey standards, and doesnt meet EPA regulations. there are MAAAANY cars that dont make it to us shores, doesnt mean people cant pay for em.

the deal with the skyline is that BECAUSE it wasnt brought to the states, there isnt a huge market for them. and the legalization costs rape up the ass on the prices for the r34. cost does play a factor, but when you think about that an r32 GT-R can go for 30k, its not that far out of reach.

PS-No such thing as an 'LS11' V8 from GM. Maybe we'll see one by the year 2020 or so.

Exactly. The R-series chassis was never meant to meet US standards, and neither were the RB-series engines. By the time Nissan found out that there might be demand worth addressing in the US(probably wasn't), it was probably too late.

Even if Nissan did want to sell Skylines in the US, it would have been too costly to reengineer the chassis and engines(we're talking several RB variants here) for the US market.

In addition, there's no guarantee that the Skylines would have lasted very long in Japan unchanged. Nissan had already decided to kill off the RB-series I6 and SR-series I4 engine familes because it would be too expensive to reengineer them to meet the tighter emission standards that were soon to come in Japan.

This is the reason why the first Skylines sold in the US are the G35s. The V35 and CPV35 were designed to meet the standards of most markets, including the US. It's the same reason the GT-R will be headed for the US. Carlos Ghosn saw the potential for global sales, and wanted the GT-R to be a 'world car.'

What most of you people don't understand is that it's not the people who can't afford them, it's Nissan who has made them and can't afford to modify them to fit america's standards without changing the basic theme of the entire car.
