The vic is sweet tho, we've got an Impala SS interceptor I believe, and not sure, but think there's a Z28.

This summer I hope do lower my 1:1 Crown Vic a couple inches maybe 3" if I can get away with it. There are a couple guys in my car club that have wicked skills and tools. So, I'll get her as low as I can go. I took her out and did some drifting last night, showing off Ah, my 4200# phat ass Ford can drift with the best.

Impala SS Interceptor??? Chevy don't make Interceptors. "Interceptor" is a Ford 'Panther Line' product. "P71" in the VIN. If it don't have that, it ain't an Interceptor. LT1 is the Chevy product if I'm not mistaken. Very nice car, bigger, better and faster than the P71. (you didn't hear that from me). I want one on my driveway someday.

MA State Police has a 5.0 'stang. It's sweet. Wicked fast. The Revenue Enhancment Officer, opps, I mean 'Statie' sucks in street racers into racing, then puts on the lights and gets the big buck tickets working. haha!

I've seen a Z28 out there on the street, I think I was in MD or VA. Marked unit too. Looked awesome with the new 3rd Gen LED lightbar and lights.

Re: AF Lowrider contest progress thread

What happened to the rules of this contest? I can't find the page anymore. I could have sworn that submissions were to be submitted by Feb. 2, 2004. There's a bunch of rides that people submitted after that date.

I'm not against a little compitition, shit, I suck and won't win squat with my "It's Not a Lowrider" Charger any ways. But I thought there were rules and no matter HOW much I suck, I would be pissed if I lost to someone that submitted a car on Feb. 14th., or Feb 03rd for that matter.

Not being a bad sport but why bother to have rules if they don't apply?

But I DOES make me wonder wtf tonioseven created the "AF Lowrider contest progress thread" to begin with.

Re: AF Lowrider contest progress thread

J. Barry - Antonio created this thread for any one who wanted to do progress photos without having a thread dedicated to them. As this is a "friendly" competition with no actual prizes, other then pride of workmanship, I don't think it matters when people post their entries.

Essentialy the contest will be closed on Sunday, Feb 29th. From there, depending on Mr. Tonioseven's schedule each entry will submit a number of pics and all of them will be combined into one sticky thread and then everyone will vote on who they like better.

Thats it... simple right?

I just did this contest to get my hands on a lowrider. This is the first low ride I have ever made, so I was excited to get it going.

Well, I would have rather had my own thread, considering everyone else is using their own thread and not posting squat here. No big deal. I was just 'curious' as to why.

I agree that it's a friendly comptition and all in fun, but there WAS a deadline to enter it. "even my 8yo son could understand". Feb. 02 was not last week. Ask any child over 5.

Like I said, I don't care because I'm not going to come even close to the top 100 in this contest. I suck at building, I suck at painting, I paint by braille. I paint a part, let it dry a little, take a photo of it, blow it up so I can see where I fuqed up, then hopefully I don't swing my brush the same way next time...

It's like jumping into the Boston Marathon at Kenmore Square and not really running the race. Here's to Rosy Ruiz!

Re: AF Lowrider contest progress thread

Ah, you guys are the best. Y'all make me feel good. I know that I shouldn't put myself down. It's a character defect that I'm working on, that comes from XX years of being told "you suck". I broke the mold. My kids never heard that from me, ever. Now I'm just stuck with fixing 'J. Barry'.

I'm only on my forth model and it's SO hard for me to build. I see the builds that are produced here on AF and I'm just stunned. The best builders in the world are here, guys that do perfect models every time out. I've seen thousands and thousands of perfect builds. I click everyone's sig and check out every modeling page you guys have. I don't think I'm even close. Still, I should not be putting myself down. I'll stop doing that.

I _am_ blind as a bat. And I do paint by braille, I was not kidding about that. This morning I put my seats in and went out to take some shineshine photos. I got this:

I never saw the head rests and seams, the shadow from the sun made them stand out great at 1280x1024. I never saw the glue thumbprint or the die marks on the rear deck. I ripped the seats out and fixed them up so they're nice and smooth now, repained the glue stain and don't know how to handle the circles...bondo comes to mind...or very dark, tinted windows I think I'll get one of those surgeon eye peices or one of those phat magnifying glasses with the light thingies. Cuz I love modeling. And I love AF.

Again, thanks for the kind words and the motivation to build a better model.

J. Barry
