^Thanks for the pic bucciali! I think green definitely looks great on the F1. It doesn't appear to be the same as British Racing Green, but close in that shot. Looks good on it.

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

Here are the other highres images of #051 at this 'supercar' show. All credit goes to fellow-rarity-searcher F48Koenig, my dear 'colleague' on Supercarfrance, for passing me the link that contains these images!

To keep the track clean and F1 focused, here's a link to SupercarFrance.com to see pics of the other cars present at the show:

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

Do you have a date of this show in Japan. The car has had 5 owners before Meissner (who obviously no longer has it) and i'm trying to work out if it went new to Japan or not.

Chris - these pics are obviously taken quite recently given some of the other cars in the shots. Meissner had this car since 2001, so there's no doubt in my mind that the car made its way from KS Autohandel in Germany to a new owner in Japan.

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

I also suspect that the show was helt very recently, since the photos surfaced at several places at the same time. The other cars in the show also point in this direction (the MC12 coz it's new and the EB110SS that recently came on the market there/into the country as shown on T2M.jp). But let me check my records, I can't remember a date right now.

The car had 5 owners in Sweden , doesent mean the it is 5 different persons ho owend it. If you own different companys you can put the company as the owner. #51 was used in trafic in Sweden first time 2000-04-18 , 2002-11-29 was milage on the car 3552Km. It had 5 owners in Sweden , the last owner was Stephen Rosenberg before him it was writen on a company called Naksam Maskin AB ho owns a Diablo GT
aswell (maby the EB110,CLK-GTR,Dauer....i have to check that). Before Naksam it was Förvaltnings AB Kungsängsliljan ho was the owner , all (owners) are lokated around Stockholm.

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

^ Thanks a lot for the info. I appreciate it.

So it goes:

First Förvaltnings AB Kungsängsliljan
Then Naksam Maskin AB (Meissner?)
Then Stephen Rosenberg
Then Japan

the white one from ZAZ is now for sale on www.mobile.de

search for McLaren

I contacted the seller and they replied that is still is in Japan and will stay there until its sold.

So maybe the white F1 will come to Europe! If so I must know where!
I'll keep contact with the seller

No... it says that the person to contact on that ad is in Chicago. It's likely just a broker trying to get in on the action.

I've heard that #014 may already be sold. Not a huge surprise as it seems there are more F1 buyers now then there are cars available.

I now strongly believe the car for sale in Japan is 070. The colour is too light to be Magnesium Silver, which only leaves 070 which is M.B.S

I think the previous Bingo Sport ad clearly ID'd that car as a 1994 F1 which rules out #070.

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

Well, i now think its 070. The ad says '97. Why would they change it to '97 if it wasn't a '97?

Why was it listed as '94 to begin with? Maybe they don't know what year the car is.

Anyway, the car we believe to be #070 didn't have a red driver's seat insert - it was light grey. They aren't the same car.

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

Thats the downside of a group of "trainspotters" like us is that people are less than willing to pass out info about particular cars. Although, having said that, the ferrari spotters have the same problems so i guess its not only us. Another reason why i think we should move to a private forum format. But thats for another day...

Take this to a private forum and it will just be us chatting with each other. I can't count the amount of info and contributions that have come our way because of how readily available this forum is to everyone.

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

:-)
Well, communicating with Japanese is pretty hard in the first place, no matter how hard you try.
And they said something about them being prohibited by law to pass the chassis nr, according to Babelfish Some lame-*** excuse if you ask me

I had a trip to Japan planned for next year, but things came up and it will probably be 2007 the earliest.

My source has disappeared into thin air, so I gotta find me a new one to keep us all posted.

Mini Magic, I cannot find any mentioning of an official date, but the photos seem to appear in week 47, so my best guess is the weekend of 19/20 november.

Someone on SC.net just found this:

Here

I haven't done the translation yet to see what info can be had, but figured I would pass it along for the rest to enjoy.

Definitely custom as far as F1s go - it may be an off the shelf wheel from many of the wheel distributors in Japan that was simply forged as a blank and then the hub area was machined to match the F1. There are plenty of companies in that part of the world who could do something like that and the Japanese commonly mod their supercars in more unique ways than you see in many other parts of the world.

Those wheels look pretty cool, and usually I hate aftermarket wheels on an F1. I think they're a tad too big though. Looks like the #010/#070 car, huh?

i enquired about the chassis# on sc.net, but thought i'd try here as well

i was thinking of Jap F1's too, but the two listed above don't have the red stripe down the side

Erik - your expertise is needed!

The car with the red stripe is not 070. Its an earlier car. We don't know the chassis # though.
