Heres the sketch and piece I have fabricated so far. I need to weld up some seams, and then do some lead work on the top.

Enjoy!

Pretty much. The normal covers that go on are just so boring, and ugly. It needed a touch of something to get it to look decent. The drawing is what the final product should look like.

Thank you very much, its good to see a "senior" follower still intrested. As far as the 1:1, I will see if I can get some guys to send me pics of them. Unfortunately they are up north in Michigan...with my tools.

I am hoping to get '37 Ford Coupe soon, 1:1 scale. Unfortunately insurance will probably be through the roof, but I can get a tag for it for only $20.

Im sort of stuck on what to work on now. The diff is pretty much complete, and I dont really want to work on it much more until I get that K36 prime. The trans is pretty much complete. I need to get that frame welded up so I can design and weld up the front cross member. Get some wheels, and then start body fabrication.

UPDATES:

Here are just a couple shots of the frame rail pieces that I cut out two weeks ago. They havent been welded yet, so thats not exactly what they will look like, they will be pinched, pickled, and bent. They are just tied together, ready to weld up.

Sunday morning I will be going to weld up most of the frame. I wont have any of the front suspension, including the front crossmember welded up yet, I need to cut those pieces after welding the frame rails.

Side pieces

Top/Bottom pieces, I still need to bend them, but they need to be bent as I tack them together. (Just a note, they look cut sort of wavy, but thats because they arent stacked neatly.)

If anybody is wondering, they are cut out of 4130 Cold Rolled/Hardened steel. If anybody wants a cleared explination of what kind of steel, just ask.

My father has one and it is nice. Well somewhat nice. The car is a work in progress. I love the body lines of them.

Re: ULTIMATE SCRATCHBUILD: 1/6 Hot Rod (Progress)

I wish this thing would come together faster... If I could just tack things in place it would be a lot further. Therefore in about 2 1/2 weeks I will be getting a new MIG welder just for tacking, I might run a few beads if neccesary but I would like to stick to TIG for the beads.

You guys have any ideas on something I can go ahead and get knocked out while Im waiting?
